You’ve been undefeated in your boxing career. What is the one secret to your success?
FM: The secret to my success is I’m always strategising. I’m always seeking, I’m always learning. I’m confident, but at the same time I’m calculated. I am confident enough to know that I’m going to win because in my mind, I’ve already won; I’ve already conquered the challenge. It’s mental jujitsu and that’s what I ‘m doing.” He adds, “To sum that it would be knowing in my mind I’ve won, telling myself that I have already won and constantly strategising and never losing focus or sight on the prize.”

Boxing: Is Floyd Mayweather running out of money? | Marca

You’re said to have the ability to foresee the moves your opponent will make. How do you do that?
FM: Well, I just learn,’ I constantly learn. I’ve mastered the art of boxing. I feel that is why I’m known as TBE (the best ever) and I’m intuitive. I study my opponent very well. I don’t think I know it all, but I know enough to know which direction my opponent will be going in. And I’m quick, I’m quick on my feet, quick with my hands and it all comes through my training, the decisions I make and it comes through the amount of time I spend on constantly improving my skills.
I am a globally-recognised athlete. I did that by discipline, making the right choices and by surrounding myself with the right people and that’s how I became the best ever. Because I was able to focus on what mattered.

Before a fight, what is your diet like?
FM: Training camp is training camp. And training camp is very serious. It’s all about how many calories you put into your body a day, so my diet is very strict: it’s lean, it’s about how cutting weight and being in the best physical shape possible. Drinking a lot of water and staying hydrated and getting a lost of rest. It’s also a 12-week process and during those 12 weeks, I’m strictly focused on conquering my opponent.

Do you enjoy Bollywood movies and who’s your favourite actor?
FM: I enjoy all movies. I do think that Bollywood is bigger than Hollywood. I am very familiar with it and with some of the big names that are out here. One thing that a lot of the Bollywood names have in common with me is that they’re fit, they’re healthy, they focus on looking good, feeling great, staying in shape and they’re great brand ambassadors for Bollywood. I wouldn’t say that I have any one favourite actor because they’re so many and they’re so talented, but Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham, Ranveer Singh – they’re all great. I’d love to be involved in some capacity with them. Would I like to act in a Bollywood film? I’m open to any opportunity that presents itself. I know if there’s any opportunity I can be successful at it because my formula and recipe is the same for everything: If I get involved in something, I stay disciplined till I win.

In a candid revelation, former boxing champion Amir Khan opened up about a pivotal moment in his career that resulted in a significant financial setback, attributing it to a misunderstanding with Floyd Mayweather.

In 2014, Floyd Mayweather gained attention for conducting a fan poll regarding his May 3rd fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, with contenders Marcos Maidana and Amir Khan in contention. Khan emerged as the victor of the poll, garnering 57 percent of the votes. However, despite Khan’s triumph and his prior victory over Maidana, Mayweather ultimately opted not to select Khan as his opponent for the bout.

The British Legend Regrets The Decision

Recalling the incident as one of the biggest regrets of his life in an interview with Gambling Zone, Khan shared the story of a missed opportunity to face Mayweather during the prime of his career. According to Khan, a deal had been finalized, complete with a signed contract for the much-anticipated bout. However, trouble arose when Khan decided to publicly announce the fight before Mayweather had the chance to do so.

In Khan’s words, Mayweather “spat his dummy out,” expressing displeasure at not being the first to break the news. Mayweather’s reaction stemmed from a belief that, as the bigger star, he should have had the privilege of announcing the bout. Khan admitted to his mistake of prematurely disclosing the fight on social media, which triggered Mayweather’s bitterness and ultimately led to the cancellation of the match.

I decided to announce it first and then Floyd spat his dummy out, he said ‘why have you announced it first?’ He thought he was the big star and it was up to him to announce it. I made that mistake, I posted ‘guys, I’m fighting Floyd Mayweather next’ and he got very bitter that I jumped the gun and it was off. I was young, 24 or 25, and I got excited about fighting a legend in the sport.”

Reflecting on his youthful enthusiasm at the time, Khan acknowledged his error in judgment, expressing excitement at the prospect of facing a legend like Mayweather. However, the fallout from the misunderstanding cost Khan millions in potential earnings, serving as a hard lesson learned.

Magen David Adom has been using ambulance motorcycles since the founding of the State of Israel in 1948, when the organization inherited motorcycles from the departing British Mandate authorities. The first official fleet of ambucycles was inaugurated some 20 years ago.

The world’s richest boxer enjoys his downtime at exotic locales. Usually, he prefers to jet set on one of his priced Gulfstreams to reach the destination. However, as his post conveyed, for a change, he decided to give some time off to his pilot crew. Thus, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and the gang headed to the ‘City of Love’ on one of the best-operated train systems in the world. From the looks of it, they appeared to have taken the world-famous Train à Grande Vitesse, or TGV.

In the post, Floyd Mayweather Jr. wrote, “I gave my pilots a couple of days off, and 15 of us hopped on a train to Paris to move around a little bit!” The first clip showed him sitting by the window seat with cards spread out in hand. A few bundles of bills decked the table. A friend, seated diagonally across the table, distributed the pieces. As the game progressed, they randomly picked the cards from the draw pile and arranged them alongside the one in hand.

Mayweather’s impact goes beyond his own career. He’s influenced the fight game by demonstrating the value of strategic opponent selection and career management. Still, he managed to go undefeated against skilled boxers like Oscar De La HoyaZab JudahShane Mosley and even Andre Berto. Now many fighters, even in the current era, strive to remain undefeated and want to land a lucrative fight as soon as possible in their career. However, according to American commentator, Floyd Mayweather himself doesn’t support the ‘Mayweather Effect’.

Floyd Mayweather doesn’t want fighters to follow him

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. | Biography & Facts | Britannica

Not that long ago, Floyd Mayweather asked Terence Crawford to give Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis a chance inside the ring. However, a renowned commentator who goes by the name of Showbizz the Adult explained how Mayweather once talked about why he chose the “currency over legacy“. However, as per the commentator, at that time, Mayweather didn’t think that the other boxers would start following him, but when he saw what was happening, he wanted to reinforce the idea of old-school boxing where the fighters took on any formidable challenger regardless of the “currency” the fight would bring.

Showbizz stated, “Floyd Mayweather never meant for the whole boxing world to follow him like that. Floyd Mayweather was just giving an explanation on why he’s moving the way he’s moving. And it helped make him ‘TBE’. The thing about Floyd, he also had integrity. Look at his resume. Amazing. Look at his boxing ability. Amazing. He didn’t expect all these people to be followers and not do exactly what he did.” But now Mayweather had seen the effects of the ‘Floyd Mayweather Effect’ and he didn’t intend it to be that way.
Furthermore, he continued, “You all trying to be like me and you all ain’t like me. Now Floyd is talking that real s**t. We gotta get back to old school. Time to right the wrongs baby.” For that reason, he wants Terence Crawford to give Jaron Ennis a chance since he’s a boxer who deserves a spotlight.

Floyd Mayweather is throwing his weight behind Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis as Terence Crawford’s next opponent. Crawford, struggling to secure a high-profile fight, was initially expected to rematch Errol Spence Jr. However, those plans fell through, leaving Crawford without a dance partner. Mayweather suggests that Crawford take on the rising star Ennis.
This matchup would be a fresh alternative for Crawford and could generate significant anticipation. Mayweather stated, “Somebody’s gotta give ‘Boots’ the opportunity. It’s been difficult for Terence Crawford to get the Spence rematch done, it’s been difficult to get the Canelo fight done, so his other option is to fight ‘Boots’ Ennis.” Currently, he’s the IBF welterweight titlist, and their bout would again allow Crawford to contest for the undisputed title.

Mayweather identified Jaron Ennis as the prime candidate to try and dethrone the pound-for-pound king of boxing.

He took his stance on the grounds of Crawford not being able to land a bout against Canelo Alvarez or a rematch with Errol Spence Jr.

Now seven months removed from his seventh-round knockout of Spence Jr., Mayweather thinks that Crawford and Ennis is next up on the itinerary.

The Money Team founder sat down for an interview with Fight Hype and gave sound reason for a Crawford and Ennis welterweight contest:

“Somebody’s got to give ‘Boots’ the opportunity. It’s been difficult for Terence Crawford to get the Spence rematch done, it’s been difficult to get the Canelo fight done, so his other option is to fight ‘Boots’ Ennis,” Mayweather said.

Crawford has seemingly conquered all of the top competition at 147 pounds except for the Michigan native.

‘Boots’ Ennis possesses the speed, flash, and technical skills to bother Crawford. He’d also be the last major pugilist at 147 pounds for Crawford to potentially best before moving up in weight, which he’s long desired.

Mayweather also drew from his fight with Canelo Alvarez back in 2013. He stated that giving Alvarez a chance helped boost his profile. Win or lose, Ennis is at a juncture in his career where a strong performance against Crawford would similarly pay immeasurable dividends.

The retired legend even threw David Benavidez’s name out there for Crawford to consider at 168 pounds, though a 21-pound jump may be too extreme.
