It appears Floyd Mayweather Jr. is already plotting his next move in the world of celebrity boxing

As one of the most recognized faces on planet earth, retired boxer Floyd Mayweather makes the news with every move he makes. This is especially true if we are talking about a potential next fight for the 50-0 boxer. Ever since he returned to boxing in a retired capacity, Floyd fought Conor McGregor in one of the highest grossing fights ever and continued to fight another seven times. Amongst his most famous opponents, we have people like Logan Paul or John Gotti III. That most recent fight against Gotti endedin a brawl that almost turned into a tragedy. But it seems Floyd is searching for his next opponent in Great Britain, specifically a famous actor from the islands.

According to a recent interview conducted by boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, hip-hop artist Bugzy Malone whose name is Aaron Daniel Davis revealed he is currently in talks to fight against Mayweather. According to Malone, Floyd Mayweather Sr. was the one who spotted him in a workout video and suggested the potential fight to his son. The rapper was on Eddie Hearn’s ‘No Passion, No Point’ podcast to talk about many different things. He dropped the news and explained how the approach happened. Bugzy initially didn’t believe Floyd wanted to fight him because a supporter approached him to possibly do advertising through a private jet company.Mayweather reached out through this company. Bugzy then used a diss track to call out Floyd.

Here’s what Malone said: “Now, I’ve turned down a few boxing matches because a lot of what’s going on now in the boxing space is like the YouTube boxing thing. I’m not really interested in stepping into it, so I was like, ‘Ah, OK. Who’s your client?’ And he’s like, ‘Floyd Mayweather.’ Flipping changed the whole conversation. Before I even thought of, ‘Hold on, am I getting my head punched in there all night long?’ I just said, ‘Yeah.’ He said, ‘Floyd Sr likes your physique, he said you look strong.’ So then we start talking to them about the weight, like, ‘What do you want me to weigh on this night?’ And they’re like, ‘Yeah, you can come in heavier.’ And I thought, ‘Flipping heck, that gives me a puncher’s chance.'”

Logan Paul said on In Depth With Graham Bensinger that he declined two requests from Floyd Mayweather Jr. to have a rematch of their June 2021 exhibition bout.

“Yeah. He asked me. He asked me. Twice. He was supposed to fight someone on top of the Burj Al Arab in Dubai – it fell through. He asked if I wanted to step in. I said no. He’s not a person you take a fight on six weeks notice with, and not with the goal that I have. I already fought Floyd Mayweather. If I did it again, it would be to beat Floyd Mayweather – which I think is doable. I just need to train proper… And also if I fought him again it wouldn’t be 85/15, it’s 50/50. ‘F–k you bro, I don’t need this s–t. You need it way more than I do.'”

Paul and Mayweather went the distance in their eight-round match, which went down in Miami.

Although Paul isn’t interested in fighting the 47-year-old Mayweather again, he believes he’d defeat the former boxing champion and undefeated pugilist (5-0).

“I think I’d beat him…Because I was so enthralled with the idea of fighting Floyd Mayweather. In my head he’s this 5’2″ giant, but he’s just 5’2”, Paul said.

“He’s beatable. I’m a YouTuber and I went eight rounds with ‘the greatest fighter of all time?’ Yeah right.”

Mayweather actually stands a half-foot taller at 5’8″, but Paul’s sentiments on the matter were made abundantly clear. It doesn’t appear that a rematch will go down, though.

“Maybe, but I just feel like I got bigger fish to fry, literally. But the idea of being the only person to knock out Floyd Mayweather excites me. I would also request 10 rounds, because I was coming alive at the end. He was not.”

Boxing doesn’t seem to be in Paul’s future at the moment, regardless. The now-WWE superstar currently holds the promotion’s United States Champion belt. He’ll be defending that title at WrestleMania XL in a triple threat match against Kevin Owens and Randy Orton.

For one to bestow lofty praise such as being “The Best Ever” upon themselves, their greatness should be beyond reproach, which many can agree is certainly the case for Floyd Mayweather Jr. A native of Grand Rapids, MI., Mayweather Jr. was surrounded by boxing since birth, as his father, Floyd Mayweather Sr., was a welterweight contender who famously faced off against Sugar Ray Leonard. His uncle, Roger “Black Mamba” Mayweather, also held championship titles at the super featherweight, light welterweight, and welterweight.

A prized amateur, Mayweather Jr. competed at the 1996 Olympics, winning a bronze medal in a controversial loss. The defeat would be the last he would experience for nearly three decades and counting, as he has compiled a flawless 50-0 record, with championships in five different weight-classes ranging from featherweight to super middleweight.

Having retired as the most bankable boxer of all-time and one of a handful of fighters with an unblemished record, the Hall of Famer’s place in the all-time ranking has been debated, with some questioning how he would fare against the top champions from past eras.
