The heavyweight division in boxing is in a fantastic place at the moment. Two behemoths in Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury finally squared off a few weeks ago, with the Ukrainian coming out as the undisputed king of the division.

The possibility of a rematch was quickly floated by Fury himself, and it certainly appears that that’s what we’re going to get. That decision could very well free up a world title belt if the IBF doesn’t grant Usyk an exception, which makes things very interesting for mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois.

Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk: Eddie Hearn sends firm warning to the Gypsy King on potential clash

If the IBF belt is up for grabs, Eddie Hearn has already inserted Anthony Joshua into the conversation no matter what. And Hearn seemingly has the whole schedule mapped out.

Hearn is just one promoter and can’t make all of the final decisions, but his plan is not far-fetched at all. In fact, it’s the likely outcome and course of action.

The IBF may not take the belt away from Usyk, but doing so would create an additional world title fight between Joshua and Dubois that is slated to take place at Wembley Stadium. It would be massive, and it would set up another epic undisputed bout in the first half of 2025.

Eddie Hearn has told talkSPORT that he’s now changed his mind about who he believes will win Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk.

The undisputed heav

yweight world title fight is under a month away, though some fans are still sceptical about whether it will happen.

Fury vs Usyk has already been postponed once due to a cut to Fury and boxing of course has an unpredictable nature.

However, when asked how sure he is that the fight will happen, Hearn told talkSPORT Drive: “More sure than I am about any normal fight because it’s already been postponed once.

Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury: "I'm sure there'll be conversations" - Eddie Hearn talks promising "rumors" around Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk next

“Honestly, I have no doubt this fight happens.

“People talk about, ‘Was the cut real?’ It’s the most ridiculous statement you could ever hear.

“The guy’s making tens and tens and tens of millions and he’s been training away from his family for nine weeks, you don’t just decide to cut your eye to get you out of the fight. It’s ridiculous.”

Discussing his prediction, Hearn said: “I think it [the postponement] is gonna help Fury in terms of his fitness, he looks in great shape.

“I saw a video of Usyk the other day, he looks in tremendous shape.

“My pick’s going backwards and forwards. I went with Fury, now I’m with Usyk.

Eddie Hearn Claims Tyson Fury Pulled Out Of A Fight With Oleksandr Usyk Despite Anthony Joshua

“But I want Fury to win the fight. I really believe the fight with AJ can happen if he wins.

“It’s a pure 50/50 fight, it’s one of the best fights that can be made in boxing, it’s the undisputed heavyweight world championship.

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury could finally fight later this year – or in 2025 – for the undisputed heavyweight crown if Fury overcomes Oleksandr Usyk on 18 May

Eddie Hearn is adamant that Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury would easily earn at least £100million each from fighting one other. The heavyweights could belatedly meet in the ring later this year or next for a fight first agreed in principle during the summer of 2020.

First, Fury faces unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia on 18 May for the undisputed heavyweight championship. Delayed from 17 February due to a cut Fury sustained during training camp, it is due to be the first of a two-fight deal agreed in November last year.

Coming through both of those bouts unbeaten would set the stage for a much-anticipated meeting with Joshua. In the meantime, the two-time champion will seemingly be fighting the winner of Daniel Dubois versus Filip Hrgovic, scheduled for 1 June, later this year.

🚨 Eddie Hearn believes Anthony Joshua will knock Tyson Fury 'spark out' and put him into retirement

That bout would likely be for the IBF title, with the winner of Fury vs Usyk expected to vacate that belt before the planned rematch. But that fight will come nowhere near earning Joshua as much as finally facing Fury would.

“You are talking north of £100 million, for each guy,” H‌earn has told Piers Morgan Uncensored. Asked by Morgan if that would make it the richest fight ever, the promoter repeated: “Ever. The biggest fight ever.”

Hearn then expanded on how much Matchroom stands to make. “We would do alright. We take a percentage off Anthony Joshua.”

After giving short shrift to the suggestion that they would receive 20%, Hearn later acknowledged the cut would be around 10%. That scenario would leave Joshua making at least £90 million from the fight.

Eddie Hearn confident Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua happens

Joshua’s promoter also offered a hint about when the fight could happen. “If Tyson Fury beats Usyk in that first fight, the whole world is going to say, ‘Please don’t do the second fight,'” he remarked.

Fury has also previously acknowledged not wanting a rematch clause in the contract. “We had this big argument this year, I don’t know if you remember when I said ‘no rematch clauses’, but [Usyk] was acting like a little b**** crying over a rematch,” Fury told the DAZN Boxing Show in the build-up to Joshua’s fight against Francis Ngannou.

Ngannou, in a recent interview on the MMA Hour, said that he arrived at the Kingdom Arena, in Riyadh, two hours earlier than Joshua, appearing to suggest that this was a ‘trick’ to tire him out.
