Simone Biles is modeling workout gear. In a new social media post, the gymnast shows off her amazing body while modeling her favorite Athleta pieces. She shared the Instagram video during her luxurious getaway to Hawaii with husband Jonathan Owens. How does the athlete maintain her amazing body? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits, including her approach to mental and physical health.

“I’ve always been in therapy [and] I’ve always been an advocate for medicine,” Biles told Vanity Fair. “If you need an inhaler, take it. If you have anxiety, take it. I’m no stranger to medicine.” Years ago Biles was prescribed Lexapro for anxiety, and she continues to take the medication today.

Simone fills her plate with lean protein and lots of fiber. For breakfast she has Kellogg’s Red Berries or egg whites. Lunch, “is either chicken or fish so I get the protein,” she told Women’s Health. Next up, a “quick snack” before another workout. “Pre-workout I love drinking Core Power; it’s a recovery drink. And then a banana and peanut butter because bananas have potassium, which helps with muscle cramps.” “And then,” for dinner, “I like having a good fish, like salmon, and rice and carrots.”

Simone Biles dazzles in her return to easily claim the U.S. Classic

“We swam twice a week—almost a mile! I swore I was going to drown, it was so hard, and then we would run. And the year before that we would bike 10 miles outside once a week. If we didn’t bike, we would run a mile before practice, and as soon as we finished the mile we’d have to go inside and do a beam routine. My legs were absolute jello. But it got easier because the cross-training helped. This year we haven’t done [cross-training] because we’re just calming it down,” she told Women’s Health about what her exercise session consists of.

Simone also spends hours in the gym daily. “I like doing legs because those exercises come pretty easily to me. I have good, powerful legs, so I can do conditioning and they won’t be too sore. But stomach conditioning, I don’t like it at all! It’s my least favorite. I like laughing better for an ab workout than actually doing abs!” she told Women’s Health.

Simone understands the importance of stretching. “We have a routine that includes running and then a stretch for every part of our body. So we’ll stretch before practice, but especially afterwards, because then you’re tense and you need to stretch those muscles down. It’s very important to keep your body flexible so that you don’t get injured,” she told Women’s Health. “My favorite stretch is splits because not a lot of people can do them. And over-splits is when you put your leg up on a mat so it’s higher—and it just looks cooler!” “Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints,” says Harvard Health. “Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.”

Claressa Shields is in terrific shape ahead of her MMA comeback.

The undefeated three-weight boxing world champion hasn’t fought in her second sport since suffering a split decision defeat against Abigail Montes in October 2021.

Shields will look to improve her MMA record to 2-1 when she squares off against fellow novice Kelsey DeSantis on the PFL vs Bellator: CHAMPIONS card in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night.

It’ll be her first fight of any kind since outboxing Maricela Cornejo to retain her WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, and WBF middleweight boxing belts in June 2023.

Since then, Shields has battled with a mental health issue that led to her gaining a lot of weight before she got back in the gym and completed an incredible body transformation.

Earlier this month, the 28-year-old shared a before and after picture that showed how far she’s come since deciding to fight back against depression.

“I did go through a rough time, and it did make me gain a whole lot of weight,” Shields told talkSPORT.com. “I was just not motivated, and kind of discouraged.

Shields to fight Cornejo after Gabriels's removal

“When I started back training, I did just decide to not let depression win and just to keep working. I really wasn’t going to let anyone know about it, but it was something that was on my heart to put out there.”

Shields, who is aptly nicknamed ‘The Greatest Woman of All Time’, revealed her unhappiness wasn’t to do with fighting, and was exacerbated by personal issues.

She added: “It wasn’t nothing involving boxing why I was down.

“Real-life stuff happened that I can’t really go into detail about. People have family problems, relationship problems, and problems with yourself that you can’t really figure out.

“At the end of the day, I feel like I conquered it. I’ve only had to deal with depression a few times in my life, and it always feels different every time it creeps back on you.

“It’s all about if you’re going to let depression win or not, and I decided to win like I do everything else.”

Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis and Frank Martin are set to collide for the WBA lightweight title this summer, and now the potential date of the fight has been revealed.

Davis is coming off an emphatic seventh-round stoppage over social media sensation Ryan Garcia –who himself is now training for his shot at the WBC world super lightweight title against Devin Haney on April 20.

Since that destructive performance in April last year, Davis has been linked with several names in other divisions, including Conor Benn, but has turned his attention to face Martin.

Martin shone in a scintillating performance against Michel Rivera back in 2022 when the American slickster showcased his refined skills, headlining his biggest show at the Chelsea Ballroom in Las Vegas.

In April last year, the 29-year-old returned to Sin City where he took on undefeated German Artem Harutyunyan coming away with a unanimous decision victory.

A boxer humiliated by Floyd Mayweather in one round has fought back to be ranked by the World Boxing Council.

Tenshin Nasukawa, who battled Mayweather in his first-ever boxing bout at the age of 20 in 2018, was a successful kickboxer at the time. He remains undefeated in that code at a startling 44-0.

However, after sharing the ring with Mayweather, albeit for only one round – as the legend pulverized Tenshin, the Japanese star turned to professional boxing full-time in 2023.

He’s since won three bouts in a row, including a January 2024 victory over the world-rated Luis Robles Pacheco. That triumph gave the WBC impetus to rate Tenshin at super bantamweight.

Nasukawa entered the WBC Rating System at number 21, having been impressive since the humbling by Mayweather. On New Year’s Eve five years ago, Nasukawa agreed to face Mayweather in a RIZIN exhibition. The result wasn’t his best despite gaining valuable experience.

Mayweather dropped Tenshin three times. The five-weight champion humiliated the youngster in front of his own people before ‘Money” ended the fight before too much damage was done.

Credit has to go to Tenshin for dusting himself down and embarking on an impressive winning run in kickboxing and then boxing. He can now challenge for a WBC title with one more win.

WBC Ratings

Meanwhile, the WBC issued a “Thank You” message to all this month’s new entries to the Ratings, which included the young kickboxing superstar.

“The World Boxing Council wishes to recognize and congratulate the boxers who entered the February 2024 ratings based on their efforts and results. The WBC ratings have been published month by month since 1968. They consist of the top 40 boxers from all divisions.

“The rating committee comprises a director, an assistant director, an executive secretary, and 22 experts, experienced members from many nations worldwide.

“This committee is dedicated to compiling the results of fights and essential information to carry out a thorough, detailed, and comprehensive analysis of the fighters’ achievements to define their position in the WBC’s lists.

“We welcome and congratulate the warriors who entered the WBC rankings this month. We wish them the best of success in their future fights.”

Francis Ngannou’s transition to boxing may have started as a side hustle, but as he readies to face Anthony Joshua on Friday, that mission statement has shifted to something more.

“I will definitely still do some MMA fights, but I’m not leaving boxing,” Ngannou said Monday at the event’s grand arrivals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“Remember, at the beginning, it was boxing. I wasn’t aware of MMA. And for more than a decade, it was all about boxing, dreaming about boxing. And then even when the opportunity came around [in MMA], it was, for me, an opportunity to shine, to be a world champion, and then potentially switch to do the crossover and go back to boxing, because I feel like it was something that I needed, I had to fulfill in order to be at peace with myself. In order to retire peacefully, I needed to do that boxing because I just love it. I can’t tell you why, but I love it and I enjoy it.”

Ngannou, 37, faces two-time former heavyweight champion Joshua, 34, in a 10-round bout this weekend at Kingdom Arena. The fight is the second of Ngannou’s burgeoning professional boxing career — the former UFC heavyweight champion stunned the combat sports world in October when he knocked down Tyson Fury in his pro debut and nearly came away with one of the greatest upsets in the history of the sweet science. Ngannou ultimately lost a split decision, however his performance blew away the expectations of many and left boxing lifers such as Eddie Hearn and Carl Frampton singing his praises.

Ngannou is also signed with PFL and has pledged repeatedly that he will compete for the MMA organization before his career is over. Renan Ferreira, the 2023 PFL season heavyweight champion, recently demolished Bellator champ Ryan Bader with a 21-second knockout at the PFL vs. Bellator event to ostensibly earn the right to welcome Ngannou to the PFL whenever “The Predator” makes his promotional debut. Ferreira told MMA Fighting that he will not enter the 2024 PFL season and will instead opt to wait for Ngannou.

It remains unclear when or if that PFL debut will come, and that question may only be further complicated if Ngannou stuns the combat sports world again by defeating Joshua.

Anthony Joshua: BREAKING: Francis Ngannou vs. Anthony Joshua fight on the table for summer 2023

After previously working with boxing legend Mike Tyson for his Fury camp, Ngannou said Monday that he and Tyson were unable to work together for this fight, however the lessons he gleaned from Tyson have stayed at the forefront of his mind ahead of his big night.

“I was and I’m still working on the basics. I think from the moment that you forget about the basics, the fundamentals, you [lose what works],” Ngannou said. “Because what made me really be inspired and be [in] love [with] the Mike Tyson style so much was the fundamentals. Mike Tyson, he could’ve beaten the world champion and he was just [using] the fundamentals. You could’ve put a video of Mike Tyson [on] and take a 5-year-old kid and say, ‘OK, look, this how to box. This is the footwork. This is a jab. This is this.’ Everything was just the fundamentals, and fundamentals get the job done.”

“I’m not a fool. I know that I’m not at the same technique level as those guys,” Ngannou continued. “I’m not saying you’re calling me a fool, I’m just pointing it out — I know the situation. All of them, they’ve been doing this sport for over 20 years at a high-level, full-time, and I’m just getting in, although I was passionate about it my entire life. But I know that I’m not going out there to show something extravagant that I know, that I’ve been practicing. Stick on the fundamentals.”

Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou will meet in a heavyweight clash live on Sky Sports Box Office on Friday March 8; scroll down for booking information – how and when to book via remote or online

Anthony Joshua dismissed suggestions that Francis Ngannou is a ‘gimmick’ opponent and believes the former UFC champion was wrongly denied a victory over Tyson Fury.

Joshua has won his last three fights, the most recent against Otto Wallin in a dominant five-round win in December, and will face Ngannou in their non-title contest in Friday’s crossover super-fight in Saudi Arabia, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

The mixed martial arts star made his professional boxing debut in October last year where he knocked down Tyson Fury in the third round only to be denied victory as Fury escaped with a contentious split-decision win.

“I was watching the Fury and Ngannou fight from home and from what I saw I thought he won,” Joshua told Sky Sports.

“It’s not a gimmick, it’s not something that’s benefiting the broadcasters, it’s not just a fight for entertainment purposes.

“This is a serious fight with someone who is prepared and understands the dynamic of boxing and he’s putting up a good fight against the apparently generational great. So, I look at it now as something completely different.

“To be classified as a world-class heavyweight I would say that you have to stay there for a period of time. But I think that he’s an athlete with a lot of potential.

“I think he should stay in boxing in my opinion, he’s got great potential to make waves.

“In terms of the word ‘gimmick’ we can get rid of that. In terms of the whole crossover aspect of what boxing is, it’s not that Ngannou was a gimmick or Fury was a gimmick, but the whole MMA crossing over into boxing I looked at it as a gimmick, but now I can see that there are certain fighters in the MMA world that can box, and he’s one of them.

“It’s good news for us fighters and good news for broadcasters because they’ve got me and Ngannou going at it in a few days.”

Great Britain’s Joshua suffered successive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk before winning his three consecutive fights whilst Ngannou was the reigning UFC heavyweight champion before he left the promotion to begin his boxing career and has 17 wins and three losses from his time in MMA.

“My mentality is that I’m fighting a talented fighter, like every fight there is massive jeopardy and I’ve got to take it seriously,” Joshua continued.

“At the time I looked at it more as a benefit for the broadcasters and sponsors. Now I look at it as someone who is serious about fighting, serious about MMA and serious about boxing.

“That’s why I’m here, because I love the same thing he does, I love to fight. When I saw the fight with Tyson Fury I thought: ‘He knows what he’s doing, he can handle himself.’

“A lot of people say he won the fight and I thought this is a great challenge for me because I need to figure out more about myself, if it’s not a challenge then I am going to stick to what I know best and I’m going to stay in my comfort zone.

“But when I saw the fight he put up against Fury, I thought this is a challenge which has driven me to push on and push on from my career so it’s going to have massive benefits for me in the long-run as well.”

Before Fury fought Ngannou, he said the whole of boxing’s reputation is on his shoulders, but Joshua doesn’t feel that kind of pressure.

“I haven’t thought of it that way because it’s only my pressure. I don’t put that pressure on myself and I don’t have that thought about anything. I just think about winning and doing what I need to do, that’s my mentality,” Joshua added.

“It’s a fight, it’s a 50/50 fight. Anything can happen. Crazier things have happened before. It is what it is. It’s a great opportunity for me to go back to work. If I didn’t take this opportunity that’s presented to me, when would I be fighting next?

Golf is a strenuous sport. It is especially so for a person such as Tiger Woods who came back to the game after a long hiatus owing to the health problems that arose after the accident in 2021. But there is a way in which the golfer can traverse the golf course without any worries. Yes, you guessed it right. Through a golf cart!

Many people do tend to use the vehicle on the grounds to prevent exhaustion. Besides, the 15-time major champ himself had gone through an unfortunate situation when he was escorted out of the Genesis Invitational on a cart due to his illness. Thus, one can’t help but wonder if he would go ahead and use the assistance at the upcoming Seminole Pro-Member!

A physical test for Tiger Woods at Seminole

Back in 2023, at the Hero World Challenge, the 48-year-old had said a resounding ‘No’ when asked about the same. Moreover, even at the PNC Championship that followed, the professional chose not to ride the vehicle on the golf course, all the while mentioning how physically fit he was during the father-son event.

Tiger Woods by the numbers and key career accomplishments

Now, coming to the exclusive event at the Seminole Golf Club. Although the 82-time PGA Tour champ has the option of using one at his debut appearance at the elite-filled tournament, based on prior experiences, Woods would probably, if not certainly, decline the use of the golf cart on the course.

Moreover, he had expressed his thoughts during the PNC Championship in December when he said, “I felt like I was physically fit to do it, and also, walking is always better for my back.” Adding on, he continued, “I just wanted to keep it loose and keep it going, and we’re just having so much fun,” before going ahead to say how he had a good time walking the course with his son.

Woods has more often than not voiced his opinion against using assistance on the greens when it comes to the tournaments on the circuit. He has done so in tandem with the PGA Tour’s policy, which does not allow its athletes to use one unless there is the presence of a valid medical reason. But the case is different for an event like the Seminole Pro-Member.

On the other hand, when it comes to using carts at special tournaments, he has no qualms about it. “We wouldn’t be able to see the likes of Lee Trevino and Gary Player out here,” said the golfer back in 2021 at the PNC Championship when asked about using the vehicle before going ahead to mention how it would be beneficial for guys who are in their 80s out on the greens. Adding on, he said, “To be able to play with their child in this event, having a cart allows them to do that.”

Well, although the upcoming match would allow one for the professional, chances are really low for Woods to use one. Especially so since he had divulged his ankle to be pain-free a while back!

Following their swift retreat in Hawaii, legendary gymnast Simone Biles and her husband Jonathan Owens recently enjoyed their date night. Biles and Owens enjoyed the night during the NFL off-season.

The couple exchanged their wedding vows on April 22, 2023, after getting engaged in February 2022. Soon after their marriage, in May 2023, the NFL player signed a deal with the Green Bay Packers as their strong safety and had to move to Wisconsin.

Since then, the couple has been navigating a long-distance relationship and they frequently try to take time out of their busy schedule to be together. Recently, they were seen relishing their date night in Texas at a place that appeared to be a carnival.

Biles shared a series of photos with fans on her Instagram story. She initially shared a mirror selfie, where she was seen donning a brown jacket and denim shorts. She paired her outfit with high brown cowboy boots.

Joshua will be looking for his fourth win in succession after recording three wins in 2023; against Jermaine Franklin, Robert Helenius and Otto Wallin. The Brit should be preparing to take on Deontay Wilder this week but the American wrecked those plans when he lost to Joseph Parker two nights before Christmas.

Ngannou almost stunned the boxing world into silence last October when he dropped Tyson Fury in the third round of his boxing debut only to lose a controversial split decision after 10 intriguing rounds. Here, we will bring you the latest news from fight week in Riyadh ahead of the latest test in Joshua’s career…

Ngannou: I was born to fight

Francis Ngannou insists he is a born fighter who is capable of knocking out Anthony Joshua ahead of their bout on Friday.

Ngannou insists his lack of experience in the ring will not prevent him from springing a shock in Riyadh.

“I finished my training camp yesterday and I feel good,” the 37-year-old told Sky Sports News. “It has been a tough eight weeks to get here. I feel like I did everything that could be done.

“I believe if I land on anybody I knock them out. But the question is how to land, that is the hardest thing. How to carry that power and energy for 10 rounds and still be able to knock someone out after all the fatigue. I don’t have experience in boxing but, don’t make any mistake, I had a lot of experiencing in life, of fighting.

“I view my fighting spirit as high as anybody else’s. I don’t have any (boxing) experience but I know I can fight. You’re born as a fighter, you don’t become a fighter, I do believe that.”

Joshua the favourite

Anthony Joshua will start as the odds-on favourite on Friday – but so did Tyson Fury last October. On that occasion, Fury was dropped in the third round by the former UFC champion, only to recover and outpoint Ngannou after 10 rounds. This fight week feels different however, with no-one writing off the Cameroonian in quite the same way they did last year.
