Mike Tyson has confirmed that his fight with Jake Paul will be an exhibition contest.

Organisers had hoped to get the fight sanctioned as a pro bout under the auspices of the Texas Boxing Commission.

However, ‘Iron Mike’ has revealed this will not be the case although the boxing icon insisted it would be contested under ‘real fight’ rules.

“This is called an exhibition, but if you look up exhibition, you won’t see any of the laws we’re fighting under,” he told Fox News.

Derek Chisora has let slip who he believes Anthony Joshua will be fighting next.

‘Del Boy’ claims AJ will box the winner of Daniel Dubois vs Filip Hrgovic at Wembley Stadium when he makes his return to the ring later this year.

Of course, that is coming from a man who is not directly involved in planning Joshua’s career path, although Chisora is close friends with AJ and is currently represented by his management company, 258 MGT.

“He will fight the winner of Daniel Dubois and (Filip) Hrgovic in Wembley (Stadium),” Chisora told iFL TV.

It is unclear whether the fight will be for the IBF belt which is expected to be vacated after Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk’s undisputed showdown on May 18.

The IBF are next up in the heavyweight sanctioning body rotation system and are due to order their mandatory challenger, Hrgovic, to face the winner of the four-belt showdown next.

However, the heavyweight titans have a rematch clause signed into their contract, so are unlikely to be able to accept the IBF’s call.

The IBF have already confirmed that they will strip the winner of the undisputed fight should they proceed with a second fight, and instead order Hrgovic to fight the next-highest-ranked boxer for the vacant title.

Currently, that is Joshua, who is placed at No.3 in the IBF rankings with the No.2 spot unoccupied.

Meanwhile, Dubois occupies the No.4 spot with the sanctioning body.

The Iowa Hawkeyes showed their superiority once again last night as the women’s basketball team advanced to the Final Four. Dominating the LSU Tigers, the Iowa women decimated their Elite 8 opponents in style, and Caitlin Clark couldn’t have asked for a better match. Scoring a staggering 9 three-pointers, the guard led her team to a decisive victory. With her NCAA record-matching performance, Clark is now justifiably prompting fans to scurry and find the proper instance in collegiate gymnastics that can match up to her last night’s display of skills.

Clark contributed heavily with 41 points of her own in Iowa’s 94-87 victory over their NCAA opponents. With the NCAA women’s gymnastics full of record-making performances over the years, it was only a matter of time before fans started drawing parallels with the greatest showdowns to commemorate Clark’s historic night.

In a recent post on X (previously known as Twitter) by the University of Michigan alum Olivia Karas, it’s evident that she’s mesmerized by Caitlin’s stellar form. However, simultaneously she couldn’t deny that gymnastics, the sport that helped her attain stardom in the domestic circuit, is wrought with thrilling performances. “What’s everyone’s gymnastics equivalent to Caitlin Clark making 9 threes last night?“, reads the caption of the post. The Big Ten gymnastics analyst seemed bent on finding the proper example that could match Clark’s career-highlighting moment.

Monday’s match made history in other areas as well. With 12.3 million viewers, the match broke all previous records of the highest viewership for any non-Final-Four women’s basketball match. For the Final Four, the Hawkeyes will face off against UConn, who secured their spot in the semis after defeating USC. While Iowa gears up for the showdown, the country’s gymnastics fans take a moment to share their favorite moments they believe can give Caitlin’s performance a run for its money.

With former WBO junior middleweight champion Tim Tszyu out for a extended time, the WBO ordered a purse bid for Terence Crawford vs newly crowned champion Sebastian Fundora. The WBO mandates that a 20-day negotiating window between Fundora and Crawford will start Friday April 5th.  Tszyu holds a rematch clause with Fundora, promotor Sampson Lewkowicz obviously feels empowered to delay it for now. Saying at Saturday night’s post-fight news conference that Tszyu needs time to “heal up.” “Tszyu will get the rematch, but not at this moment – not when we need to maximize the money for Fundora,” Lewkowicz told reporters in a side session later Saturday night. “Fundora deserves it.”

One guy who could get in the way of this fight happening, former unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr (28-1, 22 KOs)! He placed his bid into the Fundora sweepstakes. He came into the ring after the fight challenging the new crowned champion. “It’s time to get it on,” Spence said. “He got a pretty good height, but we’ll see. We’ll break him down like we always do.”

5 Ways To Fight Like Terence Crawford | Evolve Daily

Opting to fight Spence Jr. instead of Crawford could result in Fundora being stripped for the WBO belt. He could offer to relinquish his WBO belt in that letter as well. Making a fight with Spence Jr. would be for the WBC junior middleweight belt. That idea seems to be more ideal for Lewkowicz who feels like Spence Jr. is a bigger draw than Crawford. “Crawford cannot sell out (a crowd of) 90,000 people in Dallas. Everybody waits … why not Crawford? Let him wait one time, if not twice, and then we’ll go.”

Crawford made a response to Spence Jr. trying to set up a fight with Fundora, implying that he has to get behind him if he wants any action. The question of who will be fighting for the belts will be settled by the end of this month.

On June 29, Teofimo Lopez will potentially face Steve Claggett to defend his WBO Super-Lightweight title. ‘The Takeover’ won against Josh Taylor in June last year. On the other hand, Shakur Stevenson will put his WBC Lightweight title on the line against Artem Harutyunyan on July 6 in New Jersey. Both the matches will be organized by Bob Arum’s Top Rank Boxing. However, one must note that the Artem fight will be Shakur’s final bout with Top Rank before the 26-year-old enters free agency.

On the other hand, Shakur Stevenson’s upcoming opponent Artem Harutyunyan is 33 years old. However, since his debut in 2017, Artem has had only 13 fights. As of now, he has 1 loss and 12 wins [7KOs]. On that note, being asked what he felt about the upcoming events, Leonard Ellerbe wished Lopez and Shakur luck.

[Bob] Arum understands how to build fighters. It’s a process. Everybody can’t be ‘Tank’ Davis. We did that s**t and doing it. It’s like that motherf****r would love to be in business with a situation where he is generating revenue. He hadn’t got there yet. He got some good fighters. But, everybody can’t be an attraction. It’s a process,” said Leonard Ellerbe.

Teo’s a very good fighter. Shakur is a very good fighter. Wish them the best of success in their next events and what they got moving forward. But, everybody can’t be an attraction,” Ellerbe emphasized. Along these lines, he went on to praise Gervonta Davis.

According to Leonard Ellerbe, boxing stars are built over time. In this regard, he alluded to how Mayweather Promotions discovered Gervonta Davis in 2015. With Team Mayweather by his side, ‘Tank’ Davis started climbing up the ladder quickly. Eventually, he defeated Jose Pedraza in 2017 to win his first IBF Super-Feratherweight title. Therefore, Ellerbe added, “That is a process over a period of time.”

Who is better than Jake Paul at shading their rivals? KSI! He might not have had the opportunity to test his boxing jabs at Paul, but his verbal jabs? They hit the bullseye. Joining the bandwagon of those who trolled Jake Paul for fighting Mike Tyson, the rapper-turned-boxer, in his signature style trolled the ‘Problem Child.’

On July 20th, an unexpected boxing match between 27-year-old Paul will take place against Tyson who is almost 30 years older than him. By the time they fight, the former heavyweight champion will be 58. Since the fight’s inception, multiple people have expressed concerns for the senior fighter’s safety. Relentless, however, the fight seems to be unstoppable now. Does KSI approve of the fight? Well, his clever jab at the fight makes a befitting case.

KSI boldly claims he could beat 54-year-old Mike Tyson in a boxing match as YouTuber insists: 'Age is on my side' | talkSPORT

On his X, formerly Twitter, 30-year-old KSI uploaded a poster of a fight that looked like his next bout in the ring. In his captions, convincing his fans that he was finally back to boxing, he wrote, “I’m back baby!” While fans would have bought the news based on the first lines, the next few things that he wrote made the picture apparent.

KSI added, “Fighting 75 year old legend and former champ. Don’t worry, age ain’t nothing but a number. Forman hits harder and is faster than ever before!” A fight against George Foreman? That’ll raise some eyebrows.

JUST IN :Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson will be sanctioned as exhibition or professional bout

The poster is a parody of what Paul vs. Tyson entails so far. The fight is all set to be the first sporting event under Netflix. Hence, ‘JJ’ has claimed that his fight against Foreman will be streamed on a platform that he called, “NOTflix.” He highlighted certain made-up guidelines like no judges, glove types, and round duration, which had been a contentious issue for the Jake Paul fight earlier. The highlight, however, was the date of the fight – April 1st. That’s today, and it’s April Fool’s Day!

While 27-year-old Paul might be fighting Tyson to prove that he’s gone against a legendary boxer, he’s also doing so to rake some major hype in his record. If KSI were to ever fight Geroge Foreman, almost 45 years older than him, he would employ the same premises to justify the fight that Paul has done for the Tyson fight- “Age ain’t nothing but a number.”

It is also interesting why he chose Foreman. After all, he is considered to be one of the most powerful punchers in history.

‘Big George’ as he was popularly called, was a prolific heavyweight of his era. A two-time world titlist, and an Olympic gold medalist, he was a fighter who could faze the toughest of his opponents, so much so that Evander Holyfield referred to him as the hardest puncher among other contemporaries.

Holyfield once recalled in an interview with DJ Vlad that George Foreman was the fighter who gave him his hardest punch. DJ Vlad recalled the conversation to another guest, saying, “Yeah, well, I asked him about the George Foreman fight, and, of course, he won. But he said that’s the hardest he’s ever been hit.”

UPDATE :Mike Tyson fight with Jake Paul stupid and irresponsible as boxing legend launches rant

While KSI was perhaps joking about his fight against Foreman, it does nudge an important discourse. History suggests that boxers after an age should hang up their gloves. This is for the sake of their health and safety. However, we have also seen them not take these reservations seriously. But who do you think hits harder – Mike Tyson or George Foreman?

Nakisa Bidarian, the promoter of both the blogger and boxer Jake Paul (9-1, 6 KO), has commented on the recent rumors regarding the fight between his client and the boxing legend in the heavyweight division, Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KO). Bidarian stated that nothing has been decided yet regarding how the fight will unfold.
