A number of potential new challengers have emerged to replace Mike Tyson after his recent medical emergency

Just a few days ago, Mike Tyson suffered a medical emergency during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles. It all happened about half an hour before landing and doctors were already expecting him when the plane arrived at its destination. Jake Paul immediately told his followers the fight against him on July 20 was still on, while Tyson himself tweeted he was already 100% recovered. But that didn’t matter for other fighters who wanted in on the action. They all know that fighting Jake Paul these days can turn anybody into a millionaire or increase their

net-worth tenfold. One of the very first ones to offer his services is Ryan Garcia, the boxer/influencer who recently came out positive for the banned substance osterine. He came out to offer himself as a potential Mike Tyson substitute. But he is not the only one.

Although Mike Tyson already told his followers he is not backing down from the fight, that didn’t stop other potential replacements to shoot their shot. Another fighter who offered his services is Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship star Mike Perry. He has been trying to get inside a ring with Jake Paul for a minute and he obviously had to make his case. Back in 2021, Perry did spar Jak ePul and Perry even signed a deal to be Tommy Fury’s replacement but the fight against Tommy did happen and Mike Perry was there just for show. Mike recently told his followers he has been at the gym non-stop and he was ready for any challenge.

Another potential contender is UFC former champion Chael Sonnen, who recently announced his fight against Anderson Silva inside a ring for June 15. However, he also proposed himself as an option to replace Mike Tyson after the health emergency news broke. In fact, Sonnen claims he already agreed to be the former heavyweight champion’s replacement in case anything happened. But that hasn’t been confirmed yet. Other potential challengers areformer super-middleweight Sakio Bika, and not many more than that. But as things stand right now, Mike Tyson is still on to fight Jake Paul on July 20.

The anticipated rematch between undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and British Tyson Fury is set to hold on December 21 at Saudi Arabia.

The fight which was earlier speculated to hold in October will now happen in December,

Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s general entertainment authority, Turki Alalshikh, made the announcement.

“The rematch between the undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk and the champion Tyson Fury is now scheduled on the 21 of December 2024 during Riyadh Season,” Alalshikh tweeted on Wednesday.

He added “The world will watch another historical fight again. Our commitment to boxing fans continues. We hope you enjoy it.”

Former two-time heavyweight world champion Joshua returns on September 21 at Wembley Stadium against the winner of Filip Hrgovic vs Daniel Dubois, who fight this Saturday in Saudi Arabia. Usyk was expected to be stripped of his IBF belt so it could be on the line for Hrgovic vs Dubois, but the Ukrainian will retain his undisputed status for longer than expected after beating Tyson Fury.

Most Avoided Heavyweight' Rubbishes Claim Anthony Joshua Is Back: "He's Running From Me" - Seconds Out

“There’s got to be a process, it will take longer than a week,” Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn told Boxing Social. “It’s very unlikely for that to be in place on Saturday, but it is likely that the winner of that fight then fights Anthony Joshua for the world heavyweight title in September, so massive permutations for that fight.”

Joshua will have the chance to make heavyweight history by becoming just the fifth three-time world champion in history when he fights either Hrgovic or Dubois. Frank Warren, who promotes Dubois, is hoping the Brit can hand Hrgovic his first professional defeat to set up an all-British affair with ‘AJ’.

“That’s what everybody wants to see, that’s what I’d love to see, AJ is coming off a really good line of form at the moment, he’s looked very good in his last two fights and him and Ben Davison is obviously a partnership that’s really working well,” Warren told Seconds Out.

Anthony Joshua's camp says he could allow Usyk fight Fury first with good offer

“Let’s just say how it is, who wouldn’t want to see the winner of Hrgovic and Dubois fight Joshua and I hope it’s Daniel because then it’ll be an all-British affair, two massive big punchers, it doesn’t get more exciting than that. When the rematch happens [Usyk vs Fury], it means whoever wins it will have to fight against one of those guys [Dubois, Hrgovic or Joshua].”

Charlie Woods had a rough start to his American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) debut last weekend at the Will Lowery Junior Championship.

Woods shot 21-over-par and finished in a three-way tie for 32nd place with Jack Michael and Spencer Mills while the winner of the event, Patmon Malcom, finished at -7.

Woods turned in rounds of 78, 81 and 78 in the three-round event held at the Carolina Trace Country Club in Sanford, North Carolina.

Charlie made his AJGA debut on a sponsor’s exemption, according to TW Legion, and his father, Tiger, was spotted at the event, according to reports.

Serena Williams has hinted at a comeback to tennis 18 months after “evolving away from tennis”.

In a post on social media, the 42-year-old admitted she is “ready to hit some balls again”.

Although Serena did not confirm the 2022 US Open as her farewell event, she was given lavish tributes before each match in New York.

She then waved an emotional goodbye after losing to Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round.

Also, while promoting her investment company in October 2022, Serena insisted: “I am not retired. The chances (of a return) are very high. You can come to my house, I have a court.”

Novak Djokovic vs. Pierre-Hugues Herbert

“Low expectations but high hopes” is how Djokovic describes his mindset as he tries to defend his title at Roland Garros. The 37-year-old hasn’t had a good season by his standards. For the first time in years, he comes to Paris without a title; his coaching team is unsettled; and his last two defeats, in Rome and Geneva, were lackluster efforts at best.

But as Alexander Zverev said recently, Djokovic “will be at his best” in Paris. “That’s just the way it is.” It’s certainly hard to argue with his record at majors. Djokovic’s hopes may high in part because his old nemesis at this event, Rafael Nadal, has already made his exit.

Following defeat, Djokovic confirms concerns - Tennis Majors

Djokovic will start with a night match in Chatrier against Herbert, a 33-year-old doubles specialist from France. Even with the crowd firmly in favor of Herbert, though, he probably won’t scare Djokovic. PHM is ranked 142nd now, and hasn’t qualified for an ATP main draw so far this year. His trademark is his acrobatic service motion, and the arcing kick that it produces. Even against a Djokovic in relative disarray, though, Herbert will need a lot more than that on Tuesday. Winner: Djokovic

Gervonta Davis and David Benavidez are gearing up for their highly anticipated pay-per-view bouts on June 15 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The two knockout artists, headlining the main and co-main events respectively, are showcasing mutual respect as they prepare to deliver an unforgettable night of boxing.

Davis will take on Frank Martin for the WBA lightweight title in the main event, while Benavidez makes his light heavyweight debut against Oleksandr Gvozdyk, with the interim WBC light heavyweight title at stake.

Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs) expressed his excitement about being featured alongside Davis, a prominent figure in the sport.

The 27-year-old Benavidez, known for his knockout power, recently demonstrated his prowess by stopping former two-division champion Demetrius Andrade in November.

“This is a dream come true for me,” Benavidez said.

“I have always wanted to fight on the same card as Gervonta Davis, and now that we’ve set it up, this is going to be the biggest card of the year.”

Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs), the 37-year-old former light heavyweight champion, stepped away from boxing after a 2019 loss to Artur Beterbiev. He made a comeback in 2023 and has now secured a pivotal match against Benavidez.
Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) was promoted to WBA lightweight titleholder after Devin Haney vacated the belt to move up in weight. Davis will face Martin (18-0, 12 KOs), a rising star coached by Derrick James, who has gained attention with a dominant victory over Michel Rivera in 2022.
At 29 years old, Davis, who boasts an impressive record with nearly all of his victories coming by knockout, is thrilled to share the spotlight with another powerful puncher like Benavidez.

The upcoming bout between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul is getting closer and closer. Fans are waiting for the bell to ring at AT&T Stadium on July 20, when former heavyweight champion Tyson and one-time YouTube star Paul will duke it out in a fully-sanctioned professional fight in Arlington, Texas — and opinion remains divided on who will emerge victorious.

Tyson’s last professional fight took place in 2005, and the 57-year-old has attempted to assuage concerns that he is too old to be making a return to the ring against an opponent who is 30 years his junior. Paul, with only 10 career fights under his belt, has yet to face an opponent with Tyson’s reputation — but even still, a former mixed martial arts star has said the “Iron Mike” should be worried about the “Problem Child” this summer.

Former MMA star Sonnen predicts a Paul win

Netflix Boxing Match: Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Will Stream in July

In a video posted to his YouTube channel on Saturday, former UFC light heavyweight contender Chael Sonnen predicted a clear victory for Paul on July 20 — even though the best victory of Paul‘s career remains his 10th-round win over Nate Diaz last August.

To explain, Sonnen drew a parallel between this fight and Tyson’s last pro bout in 2005, against Kevin McBride. The “Clones Colossus” defeated Tyson by technical knockout after Tyson refused to answer the bell for the seventh round, instantly awarding the victory to McBride even though he was behind Tyson on two of the judges’ scorecards.

Kevin McBride, back then that beat the hell (out of Tyson) and sent him into retirement,” Sonnen said. “If that version of Kevin McBride vs. Jake Paul fought right now, Jake Paul would beat him.”

Sonnen’s confidence will be a boost to Paul, although one of the fight’s rules could benefit Tyson immensely. The two-minute rounds will allow the “Baddest Man on the Planet” to conserve his strength and land quicker blows on Paul, who lacks the decades of experience in ring that Tyson has.

Mike Tyson suffered a medical emergency during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on Sunday, his representatives have confirmed.

The former heavyweight champion, 57, became nauseous and dizzy, forcing flight staff to ask passengers if there was a doctor on board to provide assistance.

Paramedics boarded the plane, which had already been delayed by two hours in Miami because of the heat, once it touched down in Los Angeles to give treatment.

‘He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing.

‘He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.’

Typical symptoms of an ulcer flare up include nausea and vomiting, bloating, belching and gas pain, as well as chest pain and fatigue.

Jake Paul to fight Mike Tyson in boxing match streamed live on Netflix

It comes after In Touch first revealed on Monday morning that Tyson ‘had some kind of medical emergency on the plane and paramedics boarded’.

Sources claim the cabin crew ‘issued an announcement asking for a doctor 30 minutes before landing and the message even came on everyone’s screens.’

‘He was in first class, but we were an exit row,’ an eyewitness added.

‘They asked us to stay on the plane and landed so paramedics could enter. [The stewardess] said something like, “He’s a really important passenger so we wanna make sure he’s OK.” I knew it was him, but I just mouthed the words “Mike Tyson” and she nodded her head yes.’

Once the plane landed at LAX, there was another delay of around 25 minutes while the paramedics treated Tyson.

Tyson, who has previously admitted he uses marijuana daily, has given the drug up while training to fight Paul because it is on the list of banned substances used by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

He also revealed he’s given up sex temporarily as part of his training regime.

Not even a multi-million dollar purse would motivate Saul Canelo Alvarez to get back in the ring to face Floyd Mayweather Jr, who handed him his first professional defeat almost 10 years ago.

During the ‘No Golf No Life’ tournament, Canelo ignored the alleged offer to face ‘Money’, and reiterated that he is not interested.

“I don’t know what they call an exhibition fight, but I don’t know if I would leave Mexico,” he said in the interview.

Canelo rejected a fight against the American fighter, who has already retired professionally from the ring: “But I’m not interested in an exhibition fight against Mayweather, the truth is that I’m not,” he concluded.

We would have to go back to September 2013 when the so-called ‘The One’ fight took place at the MLB Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas between Mayweather and Alvarez.

In a fight that was a box office and marketing magnet, a veteran ‘Money’ exposed his titles against a 23-year-old Mexican fighter, who did the same; however, the experience was worth more

Mayweather brought out his wisdom, which ended with a Majority Decision victory, handing Canelo his first defeat in 43 professional fights. Although it was a financial success for all parties, the reality is that a rematch could never be agreed upon.

Canelo Alvarez Paid $12 Million for Floyd Mayweather Fight

Mayweather last fought as a professional on August 26, 2017, when he defeated MMA fighter Conor McGregor to leave his record at 50-0.

But the reality is that ‘The Money’s’ career was already living its twilight when he faced Canelo, and after failing to reach an agreement for a second fight, the American’s career only lasted five more fights.

After hanging up the gloves in the professional arena, Mayweather dabbled in exhibition fights, who has faced Tenshin Nasukawa on December 31, 2018; and against Logan Paul on December 6, 2020.

Now, ‘Money’ will have a new fight, and he will do it in the CDMX next August 24 at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico with opponent to be confirmed, where the rumor indicates that it could be Victor Ortiz.
