Floyd Mayweather is the richest boxer of all time. Yet, Gervonta Davis is offering monetary help to get ‘Money’ out of the alleged hostage situation he’s run into in Dubai. But, does ‘Tank’ really mean the help or is it his yet another attempt at taking digs at the former welterweight champion? In the formative days of Tank’s career, he and Mayweather used to be tight. So much so that the young fighter was seen as Mayweather’s prodigy. After having been under the Mayweather banner for a huge chunk of his career, Davis left the bastion. While he cited no dispute for leaving the stable, in the days post the separation cracks emerged in their relationship. Now, Davis is making these cracks evident to the utter dismay of Floyd Mayweather.

The other day, Davis, furthered a set of claims about Mayweather’s whereabouts after some disagreements with his former promoter. The 47-year-old fighter is in Dubai for a while, and many think he’s landed in trouble over there. This led Gervonta Davis to claim that Floyd Mayweather was being held in Dubai, on account of the money he owes his partners in Dubai. On X, a fan account thus responded: “Let me find out Floyd being held hostage in Dubai @Gervontaa.”

In response, the 29-year-old fighter came up with his own suggestion in this regard. He wrote, “He gotta pay them people that money back..if I’m lying tell him to go live rn.” He backed his stance by writing in another post, “He been stuck over there for a min too..”

This angered Mayweather who then posted an Instagram story that showed Tank dancing in his drawers with a message above it reading, “We always knew He had sugar in his Tank.” After this, things got worse with Tank posting relentlessly on his X throughout the day. Davis continued the harangue in yet another X post. He wrote, “That money looking funny like that fake ass hair on his head and face,” furthering rumors of Floyd Mayweather sporting artificial facial hair.

The New Jersey native, in the clip, said, “It’s a fighter out here that’s been calling your name, that wants to fight you. Gervonta “Tank” Davis, let’s make the fight happen. It had long been rumored Tiger Woods was unfaithful to ex-wife Elin Nordegren a couple of years before that fateful Thanksgiving weekend in 2009.

The speculation was that photos of Woods and alleged mistress Mindy Lawton were never published after the National Enquirer and Woods negotiated a deal that would put him on the cover of Men’s Fitness.

Turns out that speculation is the truth, according to David Pecker.

At the time of the Lawton incident, Pecker was the CEO of American Media Inc., which operated the Enquirer and Men’s Fitness.

Pecker, testifying at the New York v. Trump trial in New York, said he bought the photos and buried them in return for Woods appearing on the magazine.

Tiger Woods calls his recovery more painful than anything he’s ever experienced

Pecker says he bought the pictures of the two in the parking lot of a church and used them as blackmail. Woods was on the cover of the magazine with a 12-page story about his diet, workout regimen and marriage.

The deal only bought Woods so much time, though, as his affair with Rachel Uchitel became very public in 2009, which led to Nordegren swinging a golf club at Woods’ vehicle.

As the argument became news, dozens of women came forward describing relationships with Woods. His divorce reportedly cost Woods almost $100 million.

Woods has been in and out of relationships since then, including with Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn. His most recent relationship with Erica Herman ended badly when she accused Woods of sexual harassment and making her sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Woods recently played in The Masters and made his record 24th consecutive cut. But in the third round, he shot an 82, his worst score ever at Augusta, which resulted in a finish of dead last.

The suspicion has always clung to 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic that he is somehow not of this world, that the relentless perfection of his return of serve and his ability to gazelle around the court like a teenager at 36 must mean he is some sort of tennis cyborg sent from the future with a mission to make us forget the name Roger Federer.

We now know this is not the case, thanks to the player’s most recent wrist fit worn at this week’s Laureus Awards. Made up of 330 diamonds it is, put simply, not the choice of sporting machine but an all-out party animal. Novak, we had no idea.

Novak Djokovic named Laureus Sportsman of the Year

Even for a man used to giving royal dignitaries high blood pressure, a Hublot Spirit of Big Bang All Black Pavé is a hell of a showstopper. Diamonds aside, the skeletonised dial (hello HUB4700 self-winding skeleton chronograph movement) and titanium case are noteworthy in their own right. The dial suggests Djokovic likes to see how the inner workings of his watch tick – just as he does when trying to mind game an opponent. And for someone used to having his wrists as light and free as possible, it makes sense he rates the titanium case over a heavier steel or gold number.

“Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but they’re a GOAT move here by Nole,” says Time and Tide Watches’ Andrew McUtchen, himself a loud and proud Hublot fan. “Factory set diamonds on a watch are reserved for performers and athletes at the peak of their powers – when the accolades racked up are in inverse proportion to the fucks given.

“Whenever I see SOBB written, I think of ‘son of a bitch’,” adds McUtchen, “and these words come to mind looking at Novak’s pavé diamond set black Spirit of Big Bang – in an awestruck, totally appreciative way.”

JUST IN :‘Fresh Novak Djokovic doesn’t really care when he loses in the smaller tournaments,’ says tennis legend

In truth, Novak Djokovic has been on this trajectory for some time now. In a press conference earlier this year, the Serb admitted he was trying to enjoy himself a bit more off-court as his career draws to a close. “Something that I’m really trying to evolve with this Novak character is a bit more of a personality – trying to have people relate to him,” he said parodying himself in a spoof ATP video that went viral in March. Messing around with the likes of Jude Bellingham and Usain Bolt on the red carpet – while wearing a statement watch for the ages – seems a decent place to start.

We’re only getting started with this feud, with even Shakur Stevenson getting in on it.

Gervonta Davis has never been afraid to call out anyone, no matter their physical size or level of legacy in the boxing world. And now he’s going after Floyd Mayweather Jr.

“Tank” claimed that Mayweather is “being held hostage” in Dubai because he owes people money. Mayweather has quickly fired back by posting a video of Davis where he’s dancing “zesty”.

It’s no coincidence Savannah Marshall ended in the same MMA promotion as boxing rival Claressa Shields.

In October 2022, Shields defeated Marshall in the ring. But in a cage, it remains to be seen who would remain supreme. If all goes according to plan, fight fans should expect the rematch to take place under the PFL banner. In fact, that’s the driving factor as to why Marshall is transitioning to MMA.

“That’s the goal,” Marshall recently told MMA Junkie. “The goal isn’t really fighting me in a league or anything like that. The goal is to make a build-up and essentially have a fight with Claressa in the cage.”

Marshall, 32, said she was approached by PFL following the boxing match with Sheilds at O2 Arena in London. Shields had already made the jump, but the idea of evening things up was too good to pass up – particularly as Marshall had already experimented with going down the MMA path.

Claressa Shields vs. Savannah Marshall: date, time, how to watch, more

“In 2013, I walked into an MMA gym and wanted to give it a go because I just seen that MMA was really taking off, especially for women. I did about one or two sessions and I remember thinking, ‘Oh, this is too much for me to grasp.’ So I kind of turned my back on it then. In the lockdown again, I just saw there was a lot of opportunities happening for women in MMA. So I had a couple of sessions with Molly McCann, who was with the UFC. Then, boxing took off on me and I shut the door on it again.”

Marshall makes her MMA debut on June 8 at 2024 PFL Europe 2 in Newcastle, England, against Mirela Vargas (1-2). While she’s taking it step by step, the end goal is obvious. Each fight that leads up to her potential showdown with Shields serves as an opportunity to hype the matchup.

Despite their competitive rivalry, Marshall said Shields gave her some pointers prior to her PFL signing. Initially, Marshall didn’t wrap her head around them. Now, she does.

“We’re not friends,” Marshall said. “We acknowledge each other and I’ve seen her just when I signed the contract before I’d done any MMA training. She kind of pulled me aside and said this, this, this, and this. Then obviously, once I did the MMA training, I went to her last fight in Saudi and said, ‘When I looked back it, I totally get what you’re trying to say.’ Because look, I thought I underestimated it massively. I thought it would’ve been like I’m the undisputed champion and I’m going to walk into this and that’s that. Clearly, it’s not like that at all. I’ve really underestimated the sport of MMA.”

Marshall’s climb through the MMA ranks won’t be without boxing matches in between. PFL’s flexibility in allowing her to do both was a major factor in her signing. Marshall appreciates the ability to weigh her options at each turn.

“This is where the PFL have been really good with me,” Marshall said. “They know that boxing comes first. Really, it came at a brilliant time. … If the PFL wasn’t there, I would’ve been sat about waiting for a fight. So really, I’m looking at the PFL. It’s keeping me active. It’s not a boxing fight, but I’m still training. I’m still in a camp. The emotions of fight week are still happening.

Simone Biles should be focused on her Paris Olympics training, but instead she has to take time out of her life to address social media nonsense about her marriage.

Back in December 2023, NFL player Jonathan Owens appeared on “The Pivot” podcast to discuss his life and career. In what was supposed to be a cute moment, the hosts, Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor and Channing Crowder, asked Owens about his famous wife, legendary American gymnast Simone Biles. He revealed that they met online, with her contacting him first. He also explained that he had no idea who Biles was because he was so focused on football when she was in the Olympics. “I always say men the catch,” Owens said.

Everyone, including the hosts, were quick to correct Owens’ thinking on the subject, letting him know that Biles, the greatest gymnast of all-time, is in fact the catch in their marriage. Owens became the target of a swift internet backlash, with some fans encouraging the four-time Olympic gold medalist to leave him.

While the situation was “hilarious” to Biles when it started, the eight-time U.S. Champion grew tired of the judgment. In a recent appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, she defended her husband calling himself a catch.

“He never said I wasn’t a catch,” she said. “He said he was a catch because he is. I’ve never met a man like him. A lot of people that meet him are like, oh my gosh. I want a man like that, like Jonathan.”
