Roy Jones Jr has warned Jake Paul that Mike Tyson can punch with all the strength of a mule’s kick.

Tyson, 57, and Paul will lock horns at the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on July 20 in an exhibition bout streamed live on Netflix.

There is a 30-year gap in their ages but boxing icons have cautioned Paul about his opponent’s immense power.

Jones Jr fought Tyson in 2020, a split decision draw which was billed as the ‘Lockdown Knockdown’ and generated over £63million in revenue.

‘Mike Tyson is still the strongest puncher that I’ve ever been in the ring with,’ he told Shane Mosley.

‘And if he hits anybody with a shot like that, they are either going out or down, especially guys who are not used to being hit like that.

‘With these types of people like Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis, these guys are bigger and can take it.

‘But Jake Paul, I don’t think he’s going to be able to take that.

‘It might hit him on the chin like that, we’ll see, but it’s going to be tough [for him].’

This assessment isn’t coming from any old weakling.

Jones Jr is a former four-weight world champion, having held titles from middleweight all the way up to heavyweight.

Lennox Lewis has also cautioned Paul, a man whose career in the limelight began by posting videos on Vine.

Lewis, who fought Tyson in 2002, knocking him out in the eighth round to retain his three world title belts, said: ‘It’s going to be a great fight, I am looking forward to it.

Gervonta Davis and Conor Benn might have missed their opportunity to fight each other. However, the duo seem to have come together on social media to roast five division champion and multi millionaire Floyd Mayweather. Despite harboring immense respect for each other, the relationship between ‘Money’ and ‘Tank’ has been tumultuous at best. But what led to Davis accusing Floyd? And what were the accusations?

Just the other day, Floyd Mayweather spoke about how some boxers are wasting their money instead of investing it. This rubbed Davis the wrong way, as he thought Mayweather was talking about him. So, Davis revealed on social media that Mayweather was stuck in Dubai because he had unpaid dues in the country. So recently, Conor Benn has joined the Mayweather bashing bandwagon on social media.

Eddie Hearn claims it is a 'FACT' that Conor Benn will return to the ring by 'mid 2023' | Daily Mail Online

Turning to X on 26 April, Benn wrote, “OI @floydmayweather PAY YOUR JEWELLERY DEBTS YOU FRAUD.” While Mayweather hasn’t responded to Benn’s tweet yet, the same cannot be said about Gervonta Davis’ accusations. After Davis accused Mayweather of having financial issues in Dubai, Mayweather went into his video archive to look for a zesty video of Davis.

Sharing a clip of Davis dancing with a rather feminine aura, Mayweather mocked Davis by captioning the clip in his Instagram story, “we always knew he had sugar in his Tank.” Things didn’t end there! Mayweather went as far as sharing a clip of Shakur Stevenson urging Davis to fight.

Gervonta Davis is in talks to fight Frank Martin in June, but things were a lot different back in February. Fresh off his victory over Peter Dobson, Benn was looking for a big money fight and his promoter, Eddie Hearn, saw Davis as the perfect match. Davis hadn’t fought since a win over Ryan Garcia in April last year. So, Hearn quickly sent a $25 million offer Davis’ way, and he was confident Davis wouldn’t be able to refuse the deal.

But! ‘Tank’ Davis swiftly declined the offer, and when Hearn expressed his anguish about Davis’ refusal—things became obvious. While even that offer was significant, things didn’t pan out the way Benn or Davis would have wanted and the fight was eventually scrapped.

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have emerged as the next generation of star names on the ATP Tour, but Rafael Nadal is not convinced they have taken the game to the next level.

Alcaraz and Sinner have made Grand Slam breakthroughs in recent years, with both beating Novak Djokovic on their way to winning the titles at Wimbledon and the Australian Open.

That has sparked suggestions that the next generation is ready to take the game to the next level, but 22-time Grand Slam king Nadal is not so sure.

Alongside Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, Nadal dominated the big tournaments in tennis for the best part of two decades, with their era slowly coming to an end as the sands of time caught up with the great champions.

“I don’t know. No idea. Of course, they are amazing players, but at the same time, if we put in perspective that Novak Djokovic won three of four Grand Slams and played the final of another one, I mean he’s from my generation.

“So of course they’re doing amazing things. But on the other hand, a player from my generation and similar. I mean, of course, little bit better numbers, but a similar level at the level that we played, for a long time, still having a lot of success.

Nadal’s comments have sparked suggestions that he was hinting Djokovic has had an easier run to Grand Slam titles since he was taken out of the game due to injuries and Federer announced his retirement in 2022.

That observation is backed up by facts, with Djokovic winning 12 of his 24 Grand Slam titles since 2018, when Federer and Nadal were on the slide for a variety of reasons.

Djokovic’s longevity at the top of the game is a hugely impressive facet of his legacy, but he has also admitted the challenge of winning big titles has changed since his biggest rivals made their exits.

“So everything happens in life for reason and I think that it’s beautiful for our sport that we had, amazing rivalries that have really marked an incredible two decades,” said Djokovic.

“I remember John McEnroe was saying in one of the documentaries that I’ve seen recently that when Bjorn Borg retired, he felt like part of him also retired, even though he kept going.

But the 25-year-old stunned the world by dominating The Dream, turning the night at the Barclays Center into a nightmare for his Californian rival who still holds the WBC Super-lightweight title.

Considering the possibility that Tyson doesn’t show up in shape, Jones said, “[If] Jake’s 230 and Jake knows how to push him back and not get caught, those big shots early Jake can win the fight.” At the same time, Jones suggested everything depends upon how Tyson is preparing for the fight.
