However, the controversial intergender bout never came to fruition and Shields is now just days away from fighting in MMA for the first time since suffering a split decision loss in October 2021.

‘The GWOAT’ will face 1-2 MMA fighter Kelsey DeSantis at PFL vs Bellator: CHAMPS in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday night – but she’s still got Thurman on her mind.

In a recent interview with Gillie & Wallo, Shields claimed to be ‘bigger, longer, and more skilled’ than the former unified welterweight world champion while breaking down their potential fight.

In an ideal world, Deontay Wilder would be preparing for his fight against Anthony Joshua just about now. Alas, ideal it is not. Since that fight is not happening, the former heavyweight champion is busy spending time with his wife, cruising in his Rolls Royce. As he does that, he hints at a ‘Lonely Road.’ Where does this road lead? Fans remain curious.

In December, Wilder lost to his Kiwi opponent, Joseph Parker, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh. That night, ‘Bronze Bomber’ did not just register his career’s third loss, but he also lost his chance to fight ‘AJ’ in the tentative March 8th fight. While the Londoner kept his side of the deal by defeating Otto Wallin, Wilder failed. As he faces flak for the same now, he wrote a message reflecting on his character in an Instagram post.

On his Instagram, the 38-year-old fighter posted a video of him cruising in his Rolls Royce along with his partner, Telli Swift. Grown-out hair, and a wide smile, the Alabama hard hitter was composed, jamming to a song while trying to sing along. In the captions, he wrote, “Anyone who knows me knows my character! I’ve always shown love and helped everyone around me. The devil is busy and hurt people try to hurt people but before I go down this lonely road I pray that everything is going to be ok.”

In the wake of his scathing loss to Parker, a lot of folks wondered if this was the knell for the Bronze Bomber’s illustrious career. While he has not clarified when he will fight next and against whom, it is also crucial to note that fans still await his confrontation against AJ. With so much baggage in the background, this video was roped in by the fans to deliver their takes on his career.

Fans appreciate Deontay Wilder, despite the backlash

Echoing his caption that explained his nature of helping people, a fan doubled on the character witness for the fighter. They noted, “This my brudda right here and he’s a real one forget all the other stuff he’s def a man of his word and helps a lot of people and holds his family down.”

Then came a user, who, in vehemently critical words, relayed to the fighter what a huge section of his critics believe now: “THIS DUDE IS DONE.”

Another well-wisher, or rather a critic, it’s hard to tell now; suggested the fighter go back to his former trainer. Currently, the heavyweight trains under the tutelage of Philadelphian, Malik Scott. The user urged the boxer to go back to Mark Breland, with whom Bomber terminated his alliance right before his Tyson Fury Trilogy fight in 2020. They said, “You need a new trainer, bring.Mark back.”

Then came an avid fan, labeling Wilder as the “best knockout fighter of all time bomb squad.”

A time traveller theory has been doing the rounds on social media, with some fans convinced a spectator at Mike Tyson’s bout against Peter McNeeley was recording on a smartphone

Boxing fans are still convinced a time traveller was present at Mike Tyson’s legendary fight against Peter McNeeley in 1995.

Iron Mike easily defeated McNeeley 28 years ago, with the bout ending in the first round after just 89 seconds. It was Tyson’s first fight since his release from prison.

But there was certainly no ring rust on him, with his punches so fierce that McNeeley’s manager Vinnie Vecchione stepped in to protect him from long-lasting damage and get him disqualified.

A conspiracy theory has emerged in the decades since about a fan who appeared to be filming the fight on a smartphone all the way back in 1995.

The fan held up a device that looked like a modern phone while recording Tyson during his comeback fight against McNeeley. While the image is blurred, it even had black spots in similar positions to modern-day camera lenses.

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn spent some time talking with iFL TV about a number of topics, including not making any headway with Gervonta Davis on a proposal to fight Conor Benn. While that might be a bummer for Hearn & Co, he does say he’s received interest in another big fight for Benn that will largely depend on an impending ruling from the British Boxing Board of Control following Benn’s recent hearing with the commission.

Eight weeks is all it would take for Manny Pacquiao 62-8-2 (39) to be ready to face consensus pound-for-pound number one boxer in the world Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford 40-0 (31).

That is the view if the 45-year-old Filipino legend’s longtime strength and conditioning coach Justin Fortune.

Pacquiao, who has not boxed professionally since losing his WBA junior middleweight title to Yordenis Ugas on points in August 2021, had been angling for a spot on the Philippines Olympic team, something he missed out on as a youth.

“From the beginning, I went to Manila to be part of the Philippine team, but I wasn’t picked, I was rejected… because they said I was not good,” Pacquiao said in an interview last year.

“My heart and desire is to claim a gold medal in the Olympics.”

The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) backed his bid for selection, despite the cut-off age being 40, and lodged a special request with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to allow the former eight-division world champion to box.

The IOC announced this week they would not be allowing Pacquiao an exemption to box.

The IOC decision was not expected until March, with Pacquiao advisor Sean Gibbons recently telling World Boxing News that the Olympics remained the senator’s primary focus, while hinting that they would consider all other reasonable offers.

“If the right opportunity comes up for Manny, we will look at it. But we are also waiting on the Olympic decision,” Gibbons said.

There have been many great fighters over the years, but very few have had as much impact as Gervonta Davis. His undefeated record is evidence of his skills. Davis has not fought since he defeated Ryan Garcia in April last year. While he did have an offer to fight Devin Haney, Tank rejected the offer, claiming to want at least a few Ferraris from the Saudis as a gift for making the fight.

However, after Conor Benn defeated Peter Dobson earlier this month, Davis responded to Benn and asked him to make him an offer for a fight. Eddie Hearn, elated by the discourse, even sent Tank an offer worth about $15 million dollars. But it seems now that their fight will not be taking place. Let us find out why.
