What is the biggest attraction in world sports?

Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather has provided his opinions on the biggest attractions in world sport.

‘The Best Ever’ was the longtime Las Vegas main event. Mayweather headlined Las Vegas for years with megafights against Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Manny Pacquiao, and Juan Manuel Marquez.

Once known as the world’s fight capital, Las Vegas is now arguably the world’s sports capital. The NFL, NHL and WNBA all have teams in Vegas.

Las Vegas has also hosted F1, a Super Bowl, the NFL Draft and the inaugural NBA Cup Final in the last two years.

On the Pivot Podcast, Mayweather gave his thoughts on Vegas’ biggest-ever sporting attraction. Mayweather said, “I don’t know any athlete in history, in 90 minutes, make $750 million. Tell me who.”

Mayweather also underlined the difference between the present boxers and himself; “What do these boxers do now? They are boxers. I’m a box office.”

The 46-year-old also hinted at a big payday for any exhibition bout. Mayweather said, “These fighters get the bag when they go to Saudi Arabia. It’s not good money, it’s great money. Of course, they want to see Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition. And you know what the payday will be.”

Who did Floyd Mayweather criticise?

Floyd Mayweather has criticised longtime foe, Manny Pacquiao.

The two were adversaries throughout their careers and fought in 2015. Mayweather defeated Pacquiao that night, and talk of a rematch or exhibition bout has not disappeared since that May 2015 contest.

Pacquiao recently called Mayweather out at a show in Japan.

In a wide-ranging interview on the Pivot Podcast, Mayweather commented on a potential Pacquiao exhibition. Mayweather said, “When Manny Pacquiao spoke about that fight, he shouldn’t have. There’s a time and a place for everything.

“I’m not going to say he’s right or wrong. Just by him saying my name, I got a cheque for $4 million. He said my name when he wasn’t supposed to.”

Mayweather also criticised Pacquiao for calling him out when they were in their respective primes. “Remember, he (Pacquiao) told everyone that he would dethrone me. Did it happen? Absolutely not. Was he easy? Absolutely.”

Nobody quite knows how to throw a party like Floyd Mayweather! And when it’s his own birthday, the celebration reaches a whole new level, something the richest boxer in the world proved Thursday night. However, the highlight of the show was when the now 47-year-old retired champion received a $150K watch!

And to celebrate this day, he did not leave any stone unturned. Here’s a look inside his spectacular birthday bash, filled with Karaoke, food, and more.

Yesterday, TMZ Sports reported that ‘Money’ Mayweather hosted no less than 150 of his closest friends at the party. Notably, the guest list included Nicky Jam and other big names, who Mayweather flew into town and had them staying in luxury hotels. Meanwhile, during the party, guests got to indulge in culinary delight!

Here's who first saw Floyd Mayweather's potential

It boasted an array of culinary options, from mouth-watering pizzas to expensive wagyu beef and even delectable truffles; the menu left nothing to be desired. However, Avi Hiaeve of Avi & Co. caught everyone by surprise when they gifted the boxing legend with a $150k watch. It was made with, as one would guess, 18-karat gold and 29.3 carats of diamond.

What’s more, the party isn’t over yet! The Thursday night party was just the tip of the iceberg. According to TMZ Sports, ‘Money’ Mayweather started celebrations on Wednesday with Rick Ross and has multiple such parties planned in the Miami area through Monday. That aside, the $150K watch is impressive, but Floyd Mayweather has given away much more expensive watches in the past.

Back in May 2023, Floyd Mayweather gifted his friend Shuki Diamonds a $250K custom timepiece. Shuki is Mayweather’s long-time friend and his jeweler, who has hooked him up with several mindblowing jewelry. However, it was Mayweather’s turn to give! In a video shared by TMZ Sports, Mayweather presented his friend with the gift.

Claressa Shields’ message to Savannah Marshall: “You can’t beat me in nothing. It doesn’t matter what we do. Basketball, we can run the 400m, I’m going to leave her in the dust. I don’t even know how to do a backflip but I’m going to do a better backflip than her”

Claressa Shields has a message for Savannah Marshall.

The two rivals fought in an excellent undisputed middleweight title fight in 2022, which Shields won by unanimous decision.

Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield’s infamous 1997 face-off in Las Vegas remains one of the most unforgettable matches in boxing history. In the heat of the fight, Tyson bit off a piece of Holyfield’s ear, leading to a bloody mess in the ring and a disqualification and suspension from boxing on Tyson’s part.

It must have been something else to experience the moment firsthand; just ask Jeff Goldblum. The Emmy-winning actor stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Feb. 21 and revealed he was sitting in the audience that night, just a few feet from where the violence took place.

“I’ll bet if you look up some of that footage—I’m sure you don’t have it now—but I was like in the third row!” he remembered. “So, when I saw playback of it, I see me and my friend Gary Kress—who was there at the Super Bowl believe it or not, we’ve been friends a long time—we were there, and you see us.”

Anticipation was high before the match even kicked off. “It’s a very exciting, electric event as you can imagine,” he said. “I’m on the edge of my seat. Violence, you know, gets you going.”

As for the iconic ear-biting moment, Goldblum admitted he was confused at first then freaked out when he realized what was happening. So when Tyson went to bite Holyfield’s other ear just a few minutes later, Goldblum was aware of what he was seeing.

“I see blood, I was close enough to see blood, and I go ‘What? What? What happened? He bit his ear! He bit his ear!’ I jump up, I yelled something at him, I’m yelling,” Goldblum recalled. “I sort of knew it was coming—I mean, I knew it was happening. And then he did it again of course.”

However, he then spent 44 days in prison after violating the terms of a sentence that initially saw him set to avoid being jailed.

At the start of May, Davis was sentenced over his November 2020 hit-and-run car crash which injured four people.

Because he accepted a plea deal and pled guilty to four traffic offences, he avoided a custodial sentence to begin with.

Tank was instead ordered to fulfil 90 days of home detention, but not even a month later was sent to prison after all.

He was adjudged to have violated the terms of his home detention order and was ordered to serve the rest of his 90-day sentence in jail as a result.

It was revealed that he violated the terms by trying to serve the home detention order at the Four Seasons Hotel and a $3.4million penthouse, rather than trainer Calvin Ford’s one-bedroom home as the judge agreed.

Upon being released, Davis spoke out on social media several times to express his anger and frustration about the restrictions placed up him preventing him from returning to training at times.
