Anthony Joshua predicts the winner of the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul bout

Anthony Joshua recently weighed in on the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul exhibition fight that has been getting a lot of headlines due to the nature of the boxers, the legendary “Iron” Mike Tyson will try to move like his glory days at 58, while the Jake Paul at 27 has been doing exhibition fights constantly after he jumped from YouTube to the ring, and is looking to make his bones as a certified prizefighter.

Anthony Joshua reflected on his pick between both with mixed feelings “[Tyson] is older now, I pray that he comes out healthy, I think Jake Paul [wins] because of youth, that’s the only thing.

A lot has been said about how the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight is also breaking ground by being Netflix’s first live sports event, and some entertainment businessmen like Dana White believe it was about time they dipped their toes in live streaming sports.

UFC head honcho, Dana White weighed in on what it meant for Netflix to now get into the live sports game “I think they’re late to the game, but they are a force. They’re a force, man.” While claiming “I think that Netflix should’ve gotten into live sports years ago,”.

Jake Paul recently fought Ryan Bourland and lifted his arm victoriously after having fought and lost to Tyson Fury’s brother, Tommy Fury, meanwhile, Tyson has only fought once in 2020 since his retirement in 2005.

UFC legend CHael Sonnen knows another reason Mike Tyson agreed to fight Jake Paul other than money

UFC President Dana White alrady explained he spoke to Mike Tyson’s wife to ask why on earth he decided to fight Jake Paul on July 20th. Her response was that the offer was too good to turn down, which makes a lot of sense. Turning down offers that could go up to eight figures would be hard to reject by anybody. But a new theory is just out from none other than UFC legend Chael Sonnen, he has a different take of why Mike Tyson decided to get in this fight. According to the host during his show, he is convinced pride had a lot to do with Mike Tyson’s final decision to get involved in this. As you all know, there was a time in which Mike was the scariest man on planet earth. That ego never leaves people when they had a taste of it before.
Here’s what Sonnen said: “Mike Tyson answered it [during a recent interview] without speaking about himself, speaking about his training. A number of guys would simply say, ‘I’ve got far more experience than he [Jake Paul] does. I’m bigger than he is. Last thing to go is our power. Last thing to go is our power’ is terribly problematic because you’re now admitting that’s now a concession that everything else is gone… It’s just a weird thing. Mike Tyson said, ‘I can draw, I can sell tickets. I’m sitting here with you right now. Nobody else from my time, nobody else 60 years old, regardless of sport, has been invited in your studio.’ It’s a great point. It’s true. It was all true and Mike Tyson does have pride.”

Could Mike Tyson lose the fight against Jake Paul?
Everybody is waiting for this fight to take place as the suspense keeps mounting, many fear Mike Tyson could actually get hurt. Any hard punch on the head for a man who is in his late ’50s should be of major concern. The brain is much more delicate at this later age, which means he can definitely get neurological damage with a single punch. Tyson better get as ready as he’ll ever be for this fight because he won’t have it easy against ‘The Problem Chld’.

Mike Tyson will be 58 when he faces Jake Paul in a boxing match in July and the former heavyweight champion has been warned he will only last two rounds.

Mike Tyson has been warned that he will only last two rounds against Jake Paul, regardless of his training efforts. The boxing legend, known as ‘Iron Mike’, will be 58 when he steps into the ring on July 20 in Texas to face YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul, who is three decades his junior.

Tyson’s last fight was an eight-round exhibition bout against fellow boxing icon Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020. He retired mid-fight in his last professional match nearly 20 years ago.

Barry Hearn, President of Matchroom Sport and father of boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, expressed his disapproval of the upcoming fight, suggesting that Tyson is risking his health by returning to the ring.

“It’s going to make a huge amount of money. You can understand Netflix’s approach. If [Tyson] doesn’t win quickly he can’t win,” he stated on Piers Morgan Uncensored.

The Controversy Ignites: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Battle Shocks..

“I don’t believe the other guy is much of a fighter but he’s fit and he trains and he’s young… two rounds, no matter, when you’re 59, two rounds max, Tyson’s going to be blowing out of his backside because it’s quite dangerous, boxing at that level… I find it quite sad.”

Tyson has confirmed that the fight will be classified as an exhibition, but denied rumours that he and Paul will be wearing headgear and 18-ounce gloves. Eddie Hearn has previously dismissed Paul’s boxing skills, describing him as ‘average’, and he reiterated his father’s sentiments regarding the fight.

Eddie expressed his dismay at the fight, stating: “I think we live in a crazy world where that younger generation is built off views, built off narrative, built off controversy.

Mike Tyson & Jake Paul Training Footage Compared

“As a hardcore fight fan, someone who has been around boxing since I was nine years old, I find it disgusting that a 58 year old man – who was my hero growing up has to even get back in the ring.

“From a financial point of view with the amount of money that man was paid or partially paid during his career, to get in a ring with a 25-year-old guy who can’t really fight.

“I understand it and I was speaking to the Netflix guys, I don’t think they liked my criticism of the event. I’m just going to give you my honest opinion which is, it will sell, people will watch, it’ll be a big event and I don’t like it.”

Roy Jones Jr believes Terence Crawford is the pound-for-pound king of boxing.

However, ‘RJ’ insists fellow two-weight undisputed champion Naoya Inoue is ‘fast on his heels’.

“Right now the pound-for-pound king with the Kid [Naoya] Inoue right on his back,” Jones Jr told talkSPORT Drive.

“I’ll tell you why, Terence Crawford has been dominating for the last ten years, ain’t nobody come close.

“The only reason he didn’t get the pound-for-pound title earlier is because no one higher up the ladder would give him the opportunity, but he is definitely now pound-for-pound the king.

“Inoue is fast on his heels because anyone you give Inoue, he destroys.”

Jones Jr’s assessment lines up with the Ring Magazine’s pound-for-pound ratings which have Crawford at No.1 and Inoue at No.2.

Just below them on the boxing icon’s list is Dmitry Bivol who faces Artur Beterbiev on June 1 in Saudi Arabia for all four major sanctioning body belts at light-heavyweight.

Providing Bivol wins that fight, Jones Jr believes he can leapfrog both boxers into pole position.

“After that, you’ve probably got to go with [Dmitry] Bivol, he’s been doing his thing for a while,” he added.

“Bivol has shown that he can beat whoever he wants to beat, now if he beats [Artur] Beterbiev he’s going to get the new crown of pound-for-pound king.”

Crawford became the consensus pound-for-pound king after beating Errol Spence Jr last July to become undisputed champion at welterweight.

In doing so, he became the first two-weight undisputed champion in the four-belt era having already claimed all of the titles at super-lightweight six years prior.

Roy Jones Jr insists Oleksandr Usyk will have to make Tyson Fury respect his power if he hopes to beat him.

The Ukrainian slickster is not known for being a massive puncher, particularly at heavyweight, where he is on the smaller end of the spectrum.

At cruiserweight, he racked up a few impressive stoppages, most notably his vicious knockout of Tony Bellew in 2018.

But since moving up in weight the majority of his fights have gone the distance, barring Chazz Witherspoon retiring on his stool and Daniel Dubois seeing out a count on his knee.

Instead, Usyk has won most of his fights by using his superior speed and fundamentals to thoroughly outbox his opposition.

🚨 Roy Jones Jr gives Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk prediction

However, Jones Jr anticipates this won’t be enough to defeat Fury when they duke it out for the undisputed heavyweight crown on May 18.

“Usyk is a great tactician but he’s not all that explosive,” Jones Jr told Darren Bent and Troy Deeney on talkSPORT Drive on Thursday afternoon.

“If he was explosive it would be a problem. When you are smaller coming up to the big guys you’ve got to bring explosives to the ring or they won’t respect you.

“Tyson Fury didn’t take Ngannou seriously and he didn’t look the way he should have against Ngannou but he’s still Tyson Fury and he’s definitely going to take Usyk seriously.”

🚨 Roy Jones Jr gives Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk prediction

Fury will have a significant height and weight advantage come fight night.

‘The Gypsy King’ is 6ft 9in and tends to weigh in at around 270lb for his fights.

Meanwhile, Usyk stands at 6ft 3inch and will likely be 50lb lighter.

Although he is the bigger man it may prove to be a hindrance to Fury, who is used to being faster and more agile than his opponents.

The last former cruiserweight world champion he fought, Steve Cunningham, weighed in at 210lb for their bout in 2013 and caused him all kinds of problems, even dropping Fury in the second round.

Frank Warren has told talkSPORT that Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury will not happen this year, despite Eddie Hearn hoping otherwise.

“No. How many times do we have to tell everybody, the position is really simplistic,” Warren told Alan Brazil and Dean Saunders during a Friday morning appearance on talkSPORT Breakfast.

“Basically, the fight on May 18 in Riyadh, the loser of that fight will have the right to call for a rematch and they will do it because there is such huge amounts of money involved in it.

Frank Warren: Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury held up by 'certain assurances' | DAZN News US

Hearn claimed in a recent interview that Joshua’s next fight will be for a version of the heavyweight world title, either a shot at the soon-to-be-vacated IBF crown or a fight against the winner of Fury vs Usyk.

However, the heavyweight titans have a rematch clause signed into their contracts, meaning they are unlikely to be able to accept the IBF’s call.

The IBF have already confirmed that they will strip the winner of the four-belt shootout should they proceed with a second bout, and instead order Hrgovic to fight the next-highest-ranked boxer for the vacant title.

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury could finally fight later this year – or in 2025 – for the undisputed heavyweight crown if Fury overcomes Oleksandr Usyk on 18 May

Eddie Hearn is adamant that Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury would easily earn at least £100million each from fighting one other. The heavyweights could belatedly meet in the ring later this year or next for a fight first agreed in principle during the summer of 2020.

First, Fury faces unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia on 18 May for the undisputed heavyweight championship. Delayed from 17 February due to a cut Fury sustained during training camp, it is due to be the first of a two-fight deal agreed in November last year.

Coming through both of those bouts unbeaten would set the stage for a much-anticipated meeting with Joshua. In the meantime, the two-time champion will seemingly be fighting the winner of Daniel Dubois versus Filip Hrgovic, scheduled for 1 June, later this year.

🚨 Eddie Hearn believes Anthony Joshua will knock Tyson Fury 'spark out' and put him into retirement

That bout would likely be for the IBF title, with the winner of Fury vs Usyk expected to vacate that belt before the planned rematch. But that fight will come nowhere near earning Joshua as much as finally facing Fury would.

“You are talking north of £100 million, for each guy,” H‌earn has told Piers Morgan Uncensored. Asked by Morgan if that would make it the richest fight ever, the promoter repeated: “Ever. The biggest fight ever.”

Hearn then expanded on how much Matchroom stands to make. “We would do alright. We take a percentage off Anthony Joshua.”

After giving short shrift to the suggestion that they would receive 20%, Hearn later acknowledged the cut would be around 10%. That scenario would leave Joshua making at least £90 million from the fight.

Joshua’s promoter also offered a hint about when the fight could happen. “If Tyson Fury beats Usyk in that first fight, the whole world is going to say, ‘Please don’t do the second fight,'” he remarked.

Fury has also previously acknowledged not wanting a rematch clause in the contract. “We had this big argument this year, I don’t know if you remember when I said ‘no rematch clauses’, but [Usyk] was acting like a little b**** crying over a rematch,” Fury told the DAZN Boxing Show in the build-up to Joshua’s fight against Francis Ngannou.

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are set to meet in an exhibition bout later this year – and Iron Mike has finally confirmed the rules for the bout when speaking in an interview

Mike Tyson has confirmed his bout with Jake Paul will be an exhibition – but it will still be a fight.

Iron Mike, 57, will square off with YouTube star Paul, 27, this summer at the AT&T Stadium. However, the bout has been criticised by fans, who have also speculated over the rules of the fight.

Speaking on Fox Sports, Tyson addressed those concerns. He said: “This is called exhibition, but if you look up exhibition, you will not see any of the laws we are fighting under. This is a fight.”

There has also been criticism for the age gap between the pair, but Tyson doesn’t appeared to be worried. He added: “I don’t think he’s faster than me.

“I’ve seen a YouTube video of him at 16 doing weird dancing, [but] that’s not the guy I’m fighting. This is a guy who’s going to try and hurt me, which I’m accustomed to, and he’s going to be greatly mistaken.”

Mike Tyson stepping to the ring against Jake Paul this summer

He’s been back in the gym stepping up his preparations for Paul, who he will meet in the ring on July 20. The fight will be streamed live on Netflix for their subscribers.

Jake Paul believes his punches will be just as hard as Mike Tyson’s on fight night, and new training footage suggests he could be right.

Jake Paul is certainly not a man who lacks any confidence, with his fighting talk in the build up to his next fight definitely backing that up. As we all know, The Problem Child is set to take to the ring to fight Mike Tyson on the 20th of July in a fight that transcends anything seen before in the world of influencer boxing. The build-up has already involved lots of online chatter back and forth between the two fighters, with each man trying to out do one another with ‘braggadocious’ posts.

Paul has also not been shy to run his mouth regularly on his podcast, with the latest episode providing some pretty interesting sound bites to say the least. A clip for the episode has been doing the rounds on social media over the last few days, showing Paul making a pretty bold claim while sitting with rapper Lil Pump.

Jake Paul’s Punch Power

When asked about his skill level compared to that of Tyson, Paul confidently states his belief that he can punch at the same level as his upcoming opponent, stating: “To the people that don’t think I’m going to win, I’m younger, faster, sharper, and can hit at the same level that he can, and I am able to take his punches.”

However, he does follow up on that statement by admitting he is “a little scared” because he knows when standing across the ring from Mike Tyson there will be a moment of disbelief that he is actually fighting the legendary heavyweight boxer.

Lil Pump responded to Paul’s confident claim by backing up his pal and telling him he should have no issues with getting the win.

This clip was then followed by a behind the scenes shot of Paul doing some light “sparring” with Lil Pump, with the rapper perhaps regretting his decision to get in the ring with Paul. The pair are gloved up with Pump standing with his arms in the air ready to take a body shot from Paul, in some strange offer to prove he can take a punch from his mate. The outcome is not good, however, for the rapper, as he is hit with a clean body shot which leads to a loud scream before he drops to the floor in agony, as Paul laughs it off.

We hardly think a clip of Lil Pump getting dropped by Paul is going to be enough to intimidate Mike Tyson, but any clip going viral of Paul’s fighting ability is good promo for the fight. The crazy part is we still have months to wait, with the back and forth on social media not showing any signs of slowing down.

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul to be Cancelled if Boxing Legend Fails Unusual Test

Paul may have to find some better ways of scaring Mike Tyson that don’t involve Lil Pump, and hopefully, he realises all the fighting talk he is doing on his podcast will be there forever, so if things go wrong in the ring, people will be quick to remind him of his pre-fight confidence.
