DEVIN HANEY takes on Ryan Garcia TONIGHT – but the WBC super lightweight title will no longer be on the line.

It comes after Garcia weighed in 3.1lb overweight on Friday, meaning The Dream’s 140lb strap is not up for grabs in New York.

The pair fought six times as amateurs, winning three times each – but their biggest fight yet takes place this evening.

Ryan Garcia has bizarrely started warming up with a team of violinists in his dressing room.

The strange antics remain even just hours before the fight is due to start.

Ryan Garcia appeared to down a bottle of BEER on stage – despite missing weight for his fight with Devin Haney.

Garcia looked to rub salt in the wounds at the public weigh-in as he walked on stage with a bottle in hand and chugged from it.

When asked what he was drinking, he told DAZN: “I was drinking a nice ass beer. That s*** was fire.”

Ryan Garcia appeared to suggest he missed weight on PURPOSE for his fight against Devin Haney.

The controversial American MISSED the championship weight.

He hit the scales at 143.2lb and was denied the chance to cut the extra 3.2lb, meaning he could no longer contest for the strap.

Haney, the undefeated two-division champ, successfully made the weight but the bout remained in doubt.

But the grudge bout was salvaged after the two camps agreed a financial compensation for Haney.

Garcia spoke out online following his missed weight debacle to hint it was all part of a masterplan.

He posted on X: “I feel great and I got a 3 pound advantage. Let’s gooo hahahahaa. Winners do what they have to do, I’m still sharp.”

Garcia added separately: “Why would I force myself to make weight so I can be weak. Nah, I’m here to win. That’s it.”

Devin Haney has beefed up after moving away from struggling to make weight to go up a division.

Haney reigned as the undisputed lightweight world champion with the WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO belts to his name.

But the unbeaten American had a fight on his hands before the first bell had even sounded as he battled to shrink to 135 pounds.

Haney was often left completely gaunt when tipping the scales inside the lightweight limit.

And despite never missing weight, he decided enough was enough last December with a move up to 140 pounds.

In his first bout, he defeated Regis Prograis, 35, to win the WBC title that he takes into the ring against Garcia, 25.

Evander Holyfield’s comeback fight against Vitor Belfort in 2021 serves as a warning for Mike Tyson.

Holyfield, then 58 years old, accepted a fight with the former UFC light-heavyweight champion when Oscar De La Hoya, Belfort’s original opponent, was forced to pull out of the contest after contracting COVID-19.

Like Tyson’s upcoming fight against Jake Paul, Holyfield’s return to the ring was preceded by widespread medical concerns.

The former two-weight world champion looked like a shell of his former self, slipping early and nearly falling out of the ring.

Holyfield was wobbled by the first meaningful shot he absorbed – and got knocked down with a left-hand moments later.

Once he got back to his feet, Belfort rained shots down on him and although Holyfield covered up, he offered no replies of his own as the referee stopped the fight.

Many had criticised the decision to place a 58-year-old Holyfield in the ring and praised the referee for stepping in so quickly.

However, the boxing legend said: “The guy pushed me, the guy is strong.

“But I wasn’t hurt. There wasn’t no shot that hurt me real bad. He got me with a shot and I was off balance. I’m not hurt. It’s kind of sad.

“I think it was a bad call, he shouldn’t have stopped the fight that quick.”

Except, rather than ‘Iron Mike’ giving away a 14-year age disparity as Holyfield did to Belfort, he is stepping into the ring with a man 31 years his junior in Paul.

The last time Tyson competed – a non-scoring bout against Roy Jones Jr in 2020 – he looked in much better nick than Holyfield.

However, ‘RJ’ was also in his 50s.

Concerns have been raised about Tyson’s health as he gears up to box Paul.

“In older people, the brain tends to lose volume,” Hughes explained. “This lengthens the bridging veins and makes them more vulnerable to rupture.

Mike Tyson has taken to the streets ahead of his bout against Jake Paul, play-fighting with one of boxing’s biggest ever hitters.

Ahead of his blockbuster clash against YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul, Tyson returned to his hometown Brownsville in Brooklyn on Friday where he reunited with another former fighter Shannon Briggs.

With a large crowd growing, tensions reached boiling point but all in good fun as the two former heavyweights went from brawling to hugging.

Tyson ripped off his shirt to flex his impressive physique at 57 before Briggs followed suit.

The two then had a playful scrap, throwing punches but restraining themselves from doing any real damage – though to the average person, just one hit would probably knock them out.

As Briggs went to pick Tyson up, the two laughed and hugged it out, calling a truce to their mini-street brawl.

Tyson went on to post the subsequent video on his Instagram page with the caption: “Brownsville’s finest always ready for a brawl. Love this guy @cannon_briggs.”

Briggs also posted the clip, writing: “@miketyson and @cannon_briggs in Brownsville having a straightener in front of #AtlanticTowers !!!! @smoothedahustler the referee!!!! It’s on!!!”

While Iron Mike’s own destructive power is well-documented, winning his first 19 professional bouts by knockout, Briggs is no feather-fisted fighter.

The 52-year-old, who also grew up in Brownsville, made a career out of being a heavy hitter and left former unified heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis seeing stars in their 1998 bout.

The legendary British boxer emerged victorious in the end, inflicting just a second defeat on his record at the time, and revealed in 2015 to Ring Magazine that Briggs was the hardest hitter he had ever faced.

Lewis admitted: “He lacked endurance but Briggs certainly knew how to put his bodyweight behind a punch.

Tyson and Paul will meet in the ring on July 20 despite a 31-year age gap between the two fighters.

Nevertheless, there has been huge interest in the event, particularly to see if Tyson still has power left in the tank – and recent footage might give Paul reason to feel a little bit worried when he steps into the ring this summer.

Everything is ready for the fight at the Barclays Center in New York, where Ryan García will seek to defeat the World Boxing Council (WBC) super lightweight champion Devin Haney.

Ryan García arrives at the New York bout with a record of 24 wins (20 by KO) and 1 loss. His only defeat came in his penultimate fight against Gervonta Davis, where he was technically knocked out in the seventh round in April 2023. After that loss, the Mexican-American returned to the ring in December and defeated Oscar Duarte by knockout.

On the other hand, Haney arrives after being crowned as the WBC super lightweight champion in his debut in the category, defeating Regis Prograis by unanimous decision in December 2023. Previously, he was the undisputed lightweight champion after defeating Vasyl Lomachenko by unanimous decision in May 2023.

The highly anticipated showdown between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia is set to take place this Saturday night at the Barclays Center in New York, marking the culmination of their long-standing feud. This clash has the potential to either be a one-sided beatdown or a surprisingly compelling matchup.

Despite the oddball behavior exhibited by Garcia in the lead-up to the fight, including a 3.2-pound weight miss on Friday morning, the bout has managed to push through. Garcia, with a record of 24-1 and 20 knockouts, displayed a mix of religious gratitude and foul-mouthed outbursts during the pre-fight events. On the other hand, Haney, with an impressive record of 31-0 and 15 knockouts, has maintained a professional demeanor amidst Garcia’s unusual antics.

During a promotional meet-up at the Empire State Building, Haney even went as far as shoving Garcia in the face, setting the stage for an intense showdown. Haney expressed confidence in his abilities, stating, “The antics are almost done. This isn’t an easy fight, but a fight I will make look easy. I have my tunnel vision. It will show. All his antics and all the things he has been doing will betray him, and it will show.” This sets the stage for a battle of wills and skills in the ring.

In December, Haney secured the WBC super lightweight title with a dominant 12-round unanimous decision over former titleholder Regis Prograis, showcasing his prowess in the ring. This fight against Garcia marks his first title defense at 140 pounds. On the other hand, Garcia, apart from his professional boxing career, is also known for his roles as an actor and a social media influencer.

The contrasting styles and backgrounds of these two fighters add an extra layer of intrigue to this long-awaited showdown. With Haney’s technical mastery and Garcia’s explosive power, fans can expect an enthralling battle inside the ring. As the tension builds and fight night approaches, it’s clear that this clash between Haney and Garcia has captured the attention of boxing enthusiasts worldwide.

One fight that fans crave is the one between Gervonta Davis and Shakur Stevenson. But, their rivalry could not be settled in the ring. However, it was channeled on social media in a fresh set of back-and-forth between them that is soon turning ugly.

It all started when Shakur Stevenson counted himself and ‘Tank’ as the top 2 fighters in the 135 lbs weight division. He nudged his counterpart as to why the two of them could not fight this year, aligning with fans who’ve been seeking the matchup for a while now. While he outlined that he was everything that Tank was looking for in an opponent, the latter gave him a sharp reality check.

Bob Arum speaks on why Gervonta Davis vs. Shakur Stevenson is not feasible - "We're not gamblers"

Tank could not help but draw up a list of reasons why he would not fight ‘Sugar’. First, he roped in an excerpt from Stevenson’s last fight that was against Edwin De Los Santos. In that matchup, despite his win, the fighter was criticized for not being up to the mark. Tank aligned with those criticisms. He wrote on his X, “What tf is this..n*gga still fight like an amateur.. soft a** n*gga! FIGHT BACH.”

Gervonta Davis then followed up his insult with another post in which he came in with some very scathing words. He explained that Stevenson was not a fighter of his league. Davis argued that it was only because of Top Rank and Bob Arum that Shakur is still getting professional gigs. He even went to the extent of claiming that the fighter did not deserve to headline weekend events, and rather deserved to be on smaller “Thursday night boxing” stints. “You a b**ch lil n***a.. you not the top..you a top rank fighter they run the ranks. Yo a** should be fighting on Thursday night boxing faithfully AFTER THEY PLAY ANDRE WARD clips bum,” he responded while sharing a clip of Shakur Stevenson’s fight with Edwin De Los Santos.

However, Gervonta Davis did not just stop there. He wrote in another post, “EXACTLY HE A** A F*CKING BUM..”Known for his quick retorts both inside and outside the ring, Shakur Stevenson fired back at Tank Davis with a seemingly intriguing revelation.

Shakur Stevenson remains confident that Tank does not fight him because he is afraid of him. While he stayed strong on the claim that he was the best opponent for Tank, he substantiated his argument with an unexpected anecdote.

In another X post, responding to Tank, Stevenson wrote, “Look how scared he is of me… Lil b**ch nobody cares about nun of that n***as wanna know will u fight me this year? I’m da best fighter u ever got in the ring Just a couple years ago u was tryna come do a training camp wit me and my coach in Colorado did u forget Punchy a** n***a.”

Who do you think would win between the two?

The biggest star in boxing at the moment, Ryan Garcia has been all over the front pages of the combat world. For some reasons related to his upcoming boxing match against Devin Haney, but mostly for his unpredictable antics on his social media. However, his outbursts have made quite a lot of people burst out in laughter, including UFC superstar, Nate Diaz, and Boxing GOAT Claressa Shields.

The former UFC welterweight took to his Instagram account to post a clip of the conference on his story. The former boxing champ turned MMA fighter also shared her reaction to a post that Ryan Garcia posted on his Instagram account.

Ryan Garcia most probably had one of the most entertaining and memorable press conferences in his career. What started as a calm praise to God turned south in a matter of minutes as Garcia ended up cursing his opponent’s teammate. UFC superstar, Nate Diaz took notice of the press conference and posted a clip on his Instagram story with a laughing emoji.

Ryan Garcia would also post a clip of his rant in his Instagram account with the caption, “Don’t talk about my Mom Excuse the language  Not sorry at all just excuse the language,” as Garcia’s rant was most likely triggered by a comment made by one of Haney’s teammate about his mother. Shields commented at the post writing “omg” which came after some laughing emojis.

However, the thing that was more bizarre than the press conference and Ryan Garcia’s antics was “King” missing weight by a large margin. Here is what Garcia had to say about missing weight for the fight against Devin Haney.

Garcia addresses missing weight on Twitter

Ryan Garcia missing weight for his fight against Devin Haney came as a surprise to everyone involved in the fight, except “King Ryan” himself. The 25-year-old put out a series of tweets following his miss in weight which seemed like the 24-1 boxer knew that he was en route to missing weight. At least that is what it seemed like in one of his tweets.

All eyes will be on AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on July 20 when Mike Tyson takes on Jake Paul in their hugely controversial boxing match.

Former undisputed heavyweight champion Tyson, 57, will return to the ring to face Paul, 27, in what will be the main event of a card that will air on Netflix.

Tyson has not fought since drawing with Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition match in 2020, while his last professional bout came back in 2005 against Kevin McBride.

Concerns have been raised over the safety of the fight, given the huge age difference between the two men involved.

However, Tyson has insisted he is fit enough to face YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul, in what is expected to be an exhibition fight rather than a fully professional bout.

Earlier this week, Paul announced the first undercard fight for the event, with Amanda Serrano taking on Katie Taylor in a rematch of their 2022 fight – which ended in a split decision win for the Irish fighter.

The rematch will be contested for the undisputed super lightweight championship, with Taylor putting all of her belts on the line.

The upcoming showdown between the two elite female boxers will be fought over 10 two-minute rounds.

And it has now been claimed that Taylor will be paid a record-breaking fee for the fight.

The Irish TelegraphLogan Paul claims he rejected fighting Mike Tyson before Jake Paul took it: 'He's senile' | Marca report that she could pocket an estimated purse of $6m (£4.8m).

It is claimed it will be the richest-ever fight in women’s professional boxing.

“This is the rematch the world has wanted to see and I’m delighted that it’s finally happening,” Taylor said after the fight was announced.

“The first fight in New York was obviously an epic occasion and it more than lived up to the billing, and I’m sure the rematch will be no different.”

Although the former heavyweight champion’s economy will receive a huge boost for his fight in July, ‘Iron Mike’ is securing another success outside the ring.

Mike Tyson didn’t succeed in managing his fortune properly when he was a boxing superstar, but things seem to have changed a lot since then. Tyson’s fame has helped him to overcome his financial issues through exhibition fights, appearances on TV shows and movies, and his Hotboxin with Mike Tyson podcast. And now he will have the chance to make lots of money by taking on Jake Paul in an exhibition boxing fight in July.

But his best punch comes from cannabis. TYSON 2.0, the premium cannabis brand of the boxing living legend, and Carma HoldCo Inc, the parent company that operates it, made a big step toward expanding from North America to Europe. They teamed up with the multinational pharmaceutical company PHCANN to exclusively cultivate, manufacture, and distribute TYSON 2.0 products across Germany and the UK.

“Collaborating with PHCANN to bring my premium TYSON 2.0 cannabis products to Germany and the UK is a natural move as industry heavyweights,” said Tyson, co-founder, and chief brand officer of TYSON 2.0.

“I’m excited to make our world-class products available to medical cannabis patients in the region. Together, we’re setting new standards and delivering something that no one else is bringing to the table”, he added.

PHCANN International CEO Sasho Stefanoski said the partnership is a key move for the cannabis industry in Europe:

“We embrace this opportunity as many countries look toward regulatory changes. To partner with the TYSON 2.0 brand and join forces as well-respected industry leaders put us in a position where we can lead the charge in pushing industry boundaries.

Meanwhile, the PHCANN International Co-Founder Yuval Soiref expressed that “TYSON 2.0′s extensive selection of acclaimed cannabis products, will be available to German and UK patients this summer – on track to make it one of the largest cannabis brands in the world”.

The partnership takes place a few weeks after Tyson and the former wrestling legend Ric Flair teamed up with Elevated Labs in New Mexico through Carma HoldCo, a big move growth strategy in North America.

Eddie Hearn has told talkSPORT that he’s now changed his mind about who he believes will win Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk.

The undisputed heav

yweight world title fight is under a month away, though some fans are still sceptical about whether it will happen.

Fury vs Usyk has already been postponed once due to a cut to Fury and boxing of course has an unpredictable nature.

However, when asked how sure he is that the fight will happen, Hearn told talkSPORT Drive: “More sure than I am about any normal fight because it’s already been postponed once.

“Honestly, I have no doubt this fight happens.

“People talk about, ‘Was the cut real?’ It’s the most ridiculous statement you could ever hear.

“The guy’s making tens and tens and tens of millions and he’s been training away from his family for nine weeks, you don’t just decide to cut your eye to get you out of the fight. It’s ridiculous.”

Discussing his prediction, Hearn said: “I think it [the postponement] is gonna help Fury in terms of his fitness, he looks in great shape.

“I saw a video of Usyk the other day, he looks in tremendous shape.

“My pick’s going backwards and forwards. I went with Fury, now I’m with Usyk.

“But I want Fury to win the fight. I really believe the fight with AJ can happen if he wins.

Derek Chisora believes Anthony Joshua will rise to the top of the heavyweight division under Ben Davison.

The Watford powerhouse has looked phenomenal since joining forces with his new trainer a little under six months ago.

AJ started working with Davison ahead of his dominant stoppage win over Otto Wallin in December.

It was a much-improved performance to his previous two outings against Jermaine Franklin and Robert Helenius, which were overseen by former head coach Derrick James

Joshua has been criticised for being too gun-shy in many of his recent fights, but since linking up with Davison the Brit has seemingly rediscovered the fire in his belly.

Following Joshua’s win over Wallin, the pair joined forces again for his second-round demolition of Francis Ngannou.

Simon Jordan and Spencer Oliver clash on whether Anthony Joshua will beat Deontay Wilder

The Cameroonian cage fighter had caused Fury all kinds of problems five months prior but there were no such issues for Joshua as he dispatched the former UFC heavyweight champion with ease.

Chisora likes what he has seen from his old pal lately and backs Joshua to beat Oleksandr Usyk now that he is working with Davison, despite the fact he lost back-to-back fights against the Ukrainian in 2021 and 2022.

“AJ would wipe the floor with Usyk under Ben Davison, I don’t think it would go six rounds,” Chisora told Crypto Casino LTD.

“He chucked a couple jabs against Otto Wallin [in December] and everything else was power and he’s mixing up head and body.

“He’s a friend and we went to the same amateur club, but his power will be too much for Fury, he’d have so much ferociousness saved for that fight, and you must remember that Ben Davison knows Tyson Fury very well, so I think AJ [wins].”

Joshua may have the opportunity to prove himself against whoever gets their hand raised in Usyk and Fury’s inaugural undisputed clash on May 18 if a step-aside fee is accepted by the loser.

Fury’s US promoter, Bob Arum, has already teased that this could take precedence over an immediate rematch.

“There’s always a chance [of a step-aside] when there’s one entity putting up the money, as in this case the sovereign (wealth) fund [the Public Investment Fund], the [General Entertainment Authority] in Saudi Arabia, they can have a tremendous influence on the fighters, and maybe if Fury is successful they can make it worthwhile to Usyk to step aside to allow a Joshua fight to happen this year,” Arum told Sky Sports.
