Mike Tyson is one of the hardest-hitting heavyweights in boxing history and his record of rapid knockouts does little to disprove it.

Jake Paul will be wary of facing the former champion, even at the age of 58, as he managed to end 44 of his wins inside the distance.

He will be hoping to add the 27-year-old to his impressive highlights reel of knockouts over the years when they face each other on July 20 in Texas.

It will be welcome news for Tyson that the exhibition rules allowed knockouts, as he earned his reputation for being one of the most lethal and rapid knockout kings during his illustrious career.

But could he really secure a knockout inside the first minute?

Mike Tyson’s best knockouts

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul disagree on who proposed fight rules

Clifford Etienne – 49 Seconds (2003)

Like TysonEtienne was a big puncher, who had built an impressive 24-1-1 record up to that point including 17 KOs. While Etienne came out swinging, he was almost immediately knocked down by Tyson‘s powerful right hand.

Michael Johnson – 39 seconds (1985)

Remarkably, this bout could have been over even quicker had Johnson not got himself back to his feet after the first 20 seconds. The American got himself back to his feet, only to be dealt a brutal overhand right seconds later to finish him off.

Ricardo Spain – 39 seconds (1985)

Tyson made his television debut by dispatching of Spain in exactly the same time as Johnson. In spookily similar fashion, he fell to the canvas after a similar time in the fight and got back up, but a vicious right hand did the job for Tyson.

Lou Savarese – 38 seconds (2000)

Perhaps one of his more controversial fights, ‘Iron Mike’ dropped his opponent in 15 seconds and Savarese‘s knees gave way as he tried to get up.

Referee John Coyle tried to stop the fight at that point, but Tyson continued aiming punches and as he tried to catch Savarese again, he caught Coyle with a powerful blow. To his credit, he leapt to his feet to wave off the contest.

Robert Colay – 37 seconds (1985)

In his 10th professional fight, Tyson laid out Colay with a massive left hook that knocked him opponent down. The fast nature of the defeat was humiliating enough for Colay to take a five-year absence from boxing before returning in 1990.

Deontay Wilder has ridiculed the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight by declaring that, “nobody gives a f**k” about one of the fighters.

No, it’s not Paul. That’s right, the words are for Iron Mike as he prepares to return to the ring.

The event will see the 27-year-old Paul step in to fight the 58-year-old Tyson, who has been out of the pro game since 2005, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on July 20 in a professional fight that will be streamed by Netflix.

It’s highly controversial as people believe Tyson is too old and he risks serious damage to his health, despite possessing a greater talent volume than Paul. As Tyson Fury once said, “the mind wants but the body will not.”

And now Wilder is the latest to discredit the fight. The American, nicknamed the Bronze Bomber, is the ex-WBC heavyweight champion and is one of the leading names in the sport and he’s voiced his displeasure loudly.

“I think it’s bad the commission has licensed Mike Tyson because he hasn’t been active in 20 years,” Wilder told Sportsbook Review. “So, they should not just license him because of who he is, that’s how people get hurt.

God forbid he gets hurt…He’s too old for this. At the end of the day, no one gives a f**k about Mike, because if they did they wouldn’t sanction the fight. I don’t want the last thing I remember of him to be him getting knocked out by a YouTuber.”

As aforementioned, the fight will take place on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium, which is the home of the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL. It will be aired by Netflix.

Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis claims he is financially better off than Floyd Mayweather Jr. was at the same age after signing a 6-7 fight deal.

WBA ‘regular’ lightweight champion Tank Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) says the contract he signed with PBC – which includes a fight against Shakur Stevenson – is more lucrative than the six-fight deal Mayweather signed with Showtime in 2013.

Davis hasn’t disclosed exactly how much he stands to earn, but it estimated to be worth $250million.

According to reports at the time, Mayweather‘s 2013 deal was worth $200m, which he had when he was 29. But Davis claims he has eclipsed the retired boxing icon.

“That [6-7 fight] deal that I was talking about, that’s bigger than his [Mayweather’s] deal, and I’m just releasing it on here.”

The difference between the two is that Mayweather wasn’t earning such amounts at that age, as the sport has evolved financially for lower-ranked boxers.

Will Gervonta Davis have a better legacy than Floyd Mayweather?

When Mayweather was 29, he was fighting the likes of Emanuel Augustus and Gregorio Vargas and refused to duck any opponent that he was faced against. Davis, meanwhile, has faced claims that he has cherry-picked opponents he has a better chance of beating.

It doesn’t look like Tank Davis‘ career will be anywhere close to Mayweather‘s in terms of legacy after choosing not to fight the likes of Vasily Lomachenko and Devin Haney in his 11-year professional career.

That is where the two fighters differ, as Mayweather was keen to take on the top opponents such as Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton. As a result, his paychecks would be bigger than Tank‘s.

The WBC heavyweight title holder faces WBA, WBO and IBF unified king Oleksandr Usyk in Riyadh on Saturday May 18, live on Sky Sports Box Office, in a bid to become the first undisputed champion in boxing’s blue-ribband division since Lennox Lewis beat Evander Holyfield in 1999.

However, he has been in the ascendancy since his return to the ring in May 2018 and believes the good times and the bad have served to shape the fighter he is now.

Deontay Wilder has expressed his excitement at the prospect of fighting Anthony Joshua in London. The former WBC world champion was set to face Joshua in Saudi Arabia in March, but a disappointing performance in a shock defeat to Joseph Parker in December derailed those plans.

Wilder’s career appeared to have reached a dead end after the unanimous decision defeat to the New Zealander, but the 38-year-old is back with renewed vigor and is optimistic about his chances of facing Joshua if he can impressively defeat Zhilei Zhang on the Matchroom vs Queensberry card in Riyadh on June 1.

Novak Djokovic made an impressive start to his ATP Rome campaign in the opening round. The 24-time Grand Slam champion will seek to do the same in his match against the Chilean Alejandro Tabilo. As always, we at LWOT have predictions for that match and all the others taking place in Rome including Grigor Dimitrov vs Terence Atmane. But which players do you expect to win?

Head-to-head: Khachanov 4-0 Cerundolo

This has been a tough matchup for Francisco Cerundolo in the past. The main reason for that is Karen Khachanov’s superior backhand being able to exploit Cerundolo’s weaker wing in cross-court rallies. Clay is the surface that the Argentine is most likely to beat Khachanov on. Nonetheless, playing on the dirt is unlikely to prevent Cerundolo from falling to a fifth straight defeat to Khachanov.

Alejandro Tabilo vs Novak Djokovic: Dónde y cuándo ver el partido

Both players triumphed against Italian opponents in the previous round, although Sebastian Korda had to work much harder to come through in his three set battle against Flavio Cobolli. Korda will need to return Taylor Fritz’s huge serve well and use his advantage in backhand-to-backhand exchanges to give himself a good chance of winning. He does have a chance of doing that and this could be a close battle. Overall though, the few extra points Fritz will be able to get on serve may prove to be the difference.

This will be a fun match with a lot of powerful hitting. Shelton’s progress on clay has been impressive, including a title in Houston last month. However, the clay-courts in Texas play very differently to those in Rome. Zhang is not a player known for consistency, but if he can find some in this contest, Shelton usually has periods in matches on clay where his level drops. That could be decisive, although this is another contest that is likely to be tight.

A qué hora y dónde ver el partido de Djokovic y Tabilo en Roma - La Tercera

This will be a good test for Novak Djokovic. Alejandro Tabilo is in very good form on the dirt. He won the ATP 175 event in Aix-en-Provence before Rome began and then overcame Yannick Hanfmann in the opening round, who is a dangerous player on clay. Djokovic’s movement looked back to full sharpness in his previous match against Corentin Moutet, which will be important against an opponent who is capable of extending the rallies. This is likely to be competitive, but not enough for Djokovic to be the victim of an upset.

Everybody hopes to cover Tiger Woods at the PGA Championship, no matter how he is playing.

But for ESPN Golf Analysts Andy North and Curtis Strange, both two-time U.S. Open champs, they particularly hope for Tiger Woods to play well at a specific time.

Andy North was very direct.

“I think the key is, coverage-wise, we want him Friday afternoon,” he said.

“It keeps my energy level up,” said Strange.

Whether the golf gods grant North and Strange their wish is dependent on the tee times Tiger Woods receives. In fact, much of a victory is dependent on such seemingly small and fleeting situations.

Professional golf tee times in the first two rounds are most often arranged so that golfers tee off in the morning one day and in the afternoon the next day. It’s done that way to even out conditions for the field as a whole. You get the pristine greens one day. I get them the next.

Those who have won many tournaments are more likely to get the prime slots, 10 or 11 AM tee times in the morning and the 1 or 2 PM tee times in the afternoon. Those are the times golfers want.

Newcomers to the PGA Championship and the Club Professionals are likely to get the very earliest and very latest times, which are least desirable. It’s a pecking order. Players like Woods and, lately, Scottie Scheffler have earned the best times as have Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Patrick Cantlay, Rickie Fowler, those who have won important tournaments or who are popular with fans.

JUST IN :Why Tiger Woods relationship with Rory McIlroy has SOURED over recent months

Regardless of their actual start time, one day it’s morning or “early” and one day it’s afternoon or “late.” The ideal time combination for Tiger Woods is the early/late rota because that gives him more time between rounds one and two to do whatever it is he has to do to his body to recover. Ice baths, massages, and so forth, between rounds. Plus the warm-up routine that he has to go through just to play.

Tiger Woods' new logo makes Masters debut following Nike split

At the recent Masters, Woods got late/early and the bad side of the weather. There his tee time combination meant even without the weather, he faced a hard time with recovery after the first round. The situation was made worse when there was a weather delay causing the first round to finish on Friday. Worse yet, Woods had to start his second round right away.

While the tee times can definitely affect the outcome, there are other circumstances that come into play at any tournament, magnified at a major. One is the player’s feelings about the golf course.

Subsequently, in October 2023, she secured her sixth individual world title in Antwerp, Belgium. As she now gears up for the Paris Olympics, the gymnastics community speculates on whether Biles would have pursued participation in Paris had the “twisties “episode in Tokyo not occurred.

What Should Fans Expect From the Next Phase of Simone Biles's Career?

Simone Biles shattered records and defied expectations throughout her career. Becoming the first African-American woman to clinch the US gymnastics championship at just 16 years old in 2013 marked the beginning of her meteoric rise. Since then, Biles has amassed an astonishing collection of accolades, including seven Olympic medals–four of them gold–from her stellar performance at the Rio Olympics in 2016. When Simone Biles pulled out from the Tokyo Olympics at 24 due to the twisties, since then speculation arose about her retirement.

Age is a critical factor in gymnastics, where athletes often retire at this age. Had twisties not occurred, Biles, now 27, might not have pursued the Paris Olympics, potentially opting for retirement. Despite uncertainties, Biles’s acknowledgment of the challenges of aging in the sport resonates, prompting discussions about her future and leaving room for speculation, even among Reddit users, about what could have been if the twisties hadn’t intervened.

Amidst the multitude of speculations surrounding Simone Biles’ potential participation in the Paris Olympics, several Reddit user comments stood out for their insightful perspectives. One fan mused, reflecting on the timing and circumstances, “I don’t know tbh. I think if it had been in 2020 and no Covid probably no, but it being 2021 and less than three years away was probably less of a psychological ‘OMG I can’t face another quad’ barrier.” The fan suggested that the presence of Covid-19 in 2020 could have made participation less likely and this was the allusion needed to cement Biles’ possible return.

All of this probably made it easier for her to make the comeback she had previously considered.” They speculated that the post-Olympic period brought positive changes, such as new USAG leadership and personal milestones, which may have reignited Biles’ enthusiasm for competition.
