Tiger Woods‘s return to the Masters has stirred both excitement and skepticism among golf fans. Despite his legendary status in the sport, concerns linger about his ability to endure the physical demands of Augusta National.

Woods’s recent struggles with injuries, including a near-fatal accident in 2021, have raised doubts about his capacity to compete at the highest level of professional golf.

Although Woods has made efforts to return to the game, his appearances have been marred by withdrawals due to health issues. Fans express uncertainty about his participation in the Masters, with some suggesting that he may not complete the tournament.

“Please he can’t play full round and everyone knows it except him,” a fan wrote. “Tiger let someone have your spot that stands a chance of actually competing and finishing all 4 days.”

Another added: “He said he was going to play one event per month this year. All he’s done is WD from the Genesis. I’m not convinced we’ll see much more of Tiger making cuts at majors I’m afraid.”

Withdrew due to ankle issue last season

After competing in the Masters last year, Woods had to withdraw due to ankle pain and subsequently underwent plantar fasciitis surgery.

This surgery led to an eight-month absence from the professional golfing world. Upon his return, Woods participated in the 2023 PNC Championship and the Hero World Challenge. He then committed to playing in one tournament every month but was unable to fulfill this promise.

Amidst the skepticism, there remains a glimmer of hope for Woods to defy the odds, as he did in his triumphant 2019 Masters victory. The golfing world eagerly awaits to see if Woods can once again overcome adversity and reclaim glory at Augusta.

It is no news that more often than not, tennis players lose their cool on the court if they lose a point or a match. The Serbinator is especially known for this, although of course, he’s not alone. Today, Jakub Mensik lost his cool after losing a point to Lukas Klein at the Miami Open and threw his racket toward the court bench. Guess who it was reminiscent of?

The incident sparked a reaction from tennis fans comparing him to Novak Djokovic because apparently, Mensik had mentioned in one of his interviews that Djokovic is his idol. Seems like a tricky situation for the two!

During an interview in 2022, Mensik shared how Djokovic is his idol, so now fans are trolling Djokovic and Mensik and making comparisons implying that it makes sense for Mensik to lose his temper because he idolizes Djokovic, who also does the same. One of the comments was, “No prizes for guessing who his idol growing up was.” The fans are implying that he is only doing what he has learned from his idol.

Another fan added, “A Djoko fan, no surprise” The people watching the match were trying to imply that since Mensik idolizes Djokovic, he is acting aggressively because Djokovic has also done the same in the past.

One also wrote, “When your idol is Novak Djokovic, you’re destined to rash on-court behavior. In my opinion.” Djokovic’s name being dragged without his involvement in the match might be considered absurd but since Mensik called him an idol, this comparison was bound to happen.

A fan posted, “Learning from the best on court behavior in the business”. They stated that Mensik idolizes Djokovic so much that he has learned this from the best person known for being aggressive on the court and that is Djokovic.

However, after all this went down, tennis fans wanted to know what action was taken against the player. Turns out, he was let go with just a warning and there was no penalty for it. “Hey man, I just wanted to say I’m a super fan and I’ve been following your career for a long time,” said Dre.

“I respect you man and I love what you’re doing. Everything about you is fire.”

Crawford hasn’t fought since his one-sided victory over Errol Spence Jr in July of last year.

The welterweight titans were expected to run it back after Spence Jr activated the rematch clause in their deal.

However, according to boxing journalist Dan Rafael, a second bout now looks unlikely due to Spence recently undergoing cataract surgery, which can take several months to recover from.

It appears Crawford will instead box the winner of Tim Tszyu vs Sebastian Fundora in his next outing.

Ring Magazine reports that Crawford has activated his status as the WBO’s ‘super champion’ at welterweight to become their mandatory challenger at super-welterweight.

Tszyu had initially been matched up with Keith Thurman but the 35-year-old, who was scheduled to return to the ring for the first time in two years, pulled out with a training camp injury.

It’s easy to imagine an 8-year-old Tiana Sumanasekera huddled around a TV or cellphone intently watching as U.S. gymnast Simone Biles swept through the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, where she won four titles.

Nearly eight years later, the scene is different. Really different.

Sumanasekera, now 16, still has Biles squarely in focus but now the two are training mates at the gym owned by the four-time Olympic champion’s parents, World Champions Centre (WCC), in Spring, Texas, a suburb of Houston.

“I mean, sometimes it doesn’t even hit me, but when it does, it’s just like, ‘Wow. “So, just being able to do it every day made myself happy and my heart happy,” she continued, “Just knowing that I’ve come this far is something that makes me so incredibly proud and emotional.”

Born in Northern California near San Francisco, Sumanasekera started her elite gymnastics career at West Valley Gymnastics. While there, she finished ninth all-around as a junior at the 2022 U.S. championships.

Following that competition, she made a major move – going from California to Texas and World Champions Centre.

“I knew I wanted to improve my bars if I wanted to be competitive in the senior elite field,” Sumanasekera says of the impetus for the move. “I’ve always been inspired by and always looked up to Cecile and Laurent [Landi’s] coaching style, knowing they brought Simone from one level to the next is something that I was really in awe about. I really loved their coaching style, so I wanted to be a part of that as well and be a part of an incredible team and have the teammates that I do today.”

The boxing world had thus far seen them bickering. Events took a downturn when an online spat ensued between Ryan Garcia and Shakur Stevenson following the latter’s fight with Edwin De Los Santos in November last year. However, as it appears, the two seem to have agreed to put things at rest.

Recorded audio clips of Ryan Garcia and Shakur Stevenson have been gaining traction. The two reportedly joined a conversation on the X/Twitter space. In an animated discourse, they have seemingly agreed to fight. However, it is subject to a precondition. It seems a lot of it depends on Abdul Wahid (or, previously, Gervonta Davis).

Michael Benson shared in an Instagram post that an energetic exchange seems to have led Ryan Garcia and Shakur Stevenson to agree to a match. The message read, “‼️ Ryan Garcia and Shakur Stevenson are going at it on a Twitter today as Ryan agrees to fight Shakur after Devin Haney: “If I don’t get the rematch with Gervonta Davis, you have my word, we’ll fight.

Will you fight me if you win April 20th? That’s the question.” Stevenson could be heard checking with Garcia. The former interim lightweight champion stated matter-of-factly that he’s looking forward to a rematch with ‘Tank’. However, if it doesn’t materialize, then talks about a fight between the two could be initiated. “I want the rematch with ‘Tank’; if I can’t, we’ll start talking,” he said.

Shakur Stevenson sounded doubtful. However, the Californian boxer clarified why he would hesitate to fight with him when he’s already duked it out with ‘Tank’ and is now going to face Devin Haney. He expressed doubt about whether fans would be keen to watch their match.

Stevenson then sought confirmation. He said, “Okay so so can you give me your word that if you come out, even if you don’t come out victorious …will you fight me next will you fight me next?

Pat came the reply. “If I don’t get the rematch for Tank, I will do it; you have my word, you have my word,” said Ryan Garcia.

Bob Arum speaks on why Gervonta Davis vs. Shakur Stevenson is not feasible - "We're not gamblers"

As most fans remember, Ryan Garcia and then Gervonta Davis fought a non-title bout in April last year. The duel ended with a seventh-round technical knockout win for the Baltimorean.

UPDATE ;Gervonta Davis Reacts as Errol Spence Jr. Sides With Frank Martin Amid Potential Fight Rumors

The match between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia took place at a catchweight of 136 pounds. Per the contract signed, a rematch would take place only if the Baltimorean lost the fight. Nevertheless, Ryan Garcia also made it clear subsequently that a rematch with ‘Tank would happen at 140 pounds only, without any rehydration clause. As it appears, the WBA lightweight champion doesn’t display any intent of moving out of the 135-pound bracket at least anytime soon. So going by what Garcia said today, does it mean we have a Shakur fight lined up next?

So after ‘Tank’ and Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia has nearly bagged the coveted Shakur Stevenson fight. It’s an effort worthy of every ounce of appreciation.

Francis Ngannou’s new WBC ranking has been confirmed after his loss to Anthony Joshua.

Francis Ngannou’s new WBC ranking has been revealed after he was knocked out by Anthony Joshua – and it’s bad news for the former UFC star.

Ngannou was taking part in his second competitive professional boxing bout against Joshua on March 8, after a narrow split decision defeat to Tyson Fury in October.

As a result of that Fury bout, some pundits gave the French-Cameroonian fighter a chance of upsetting the odds against Joshua in Riyadh.

But the Brit showed his class with a dominant display, and knocked Ngannou down with a fearsome right hand in round one.

Joshua then floored Ngannou twice in the second round to win via knockout in incredible fashion, with his opponent briefly requiring oxygen after the fight before thankfully getting back to his feet.

Speaking on his Instagram account last week, Ngannou revealed he was ‘falling asleep and sweating’ in the locker room before the fight.

He also confirmed that he will return to boxing when the time is right.

But he will have to do so from a much lower starting point in terms of the rankings, with his new ranking now revealed after the Joshua defeat.

Ngannou is now ranked 24th in the WBC heavyweight rankings, dropping behind the likes of Joe Joyce, Dereck Chisora and Otto Wallin.

He was previously ranked as world number 10.

Despite his convincing victory in Saudi Arabia, Joshua had some classy words for Ngannou and his coach immediately after the knockout.

In a short conversation that was picked up by DAZN cameras, Joshua said: “You’re an inspiration. You’d beat a lot of people. Don’t leave boxing – don’t leave.

“Dewey [Cooper, Ngannou’s head coach] – don’t leave boxing, you know. This guy is the truth.

“If you [Ngannou] need anything, let me know. We’ll speak another time. I’d love to support your foundation – we’ll speak another time.”

Anthony Joshua has defeated Francis Ngannou via knockout after a stunning performance in Saudi Arabia.

Joshua knocked his opponent down with a fearsome right hand inside the first round as he looked to assert early dominance on proceedings.

The Watford-born fighter then landed another right hand in round two which clearly appeared to daze Ngannou.

The former UFC champion got back up, but was immediately sent straight back down to the canvas – for the final time in the fight.

Ngannou required oxygen after the knockout, but was able to sit up in his corner as he was attended to by medical staff, and eventually got up to his feet.

Joshua went into the bout, which took place in Riyadh, as the heavy favourite – although not many expected such a dominant display.

Ngannou suffered a split decision loss to Tyson Fury in his first professional fight in October, and was seen as a strong challenger to the former two-time heavyweight champion.

And despite a fast start in the opening 30 seconds of the contest, the first of three knockdowns rocked Ngannou. While he made it to the end of the round, Joshua sensed his opportunity.

Campbell Hatton believes Anthony Joshua is back to his best and would beat Tyson Fury on current form.

AJ put on a scintillating display knocking Francis Ngannou out cold in the second round of his latest fight on March 8 in Saudi Arabia.

He earned plaudits for the second outing in the row, having stopped Otto Wallin in equally commanding fashion in December 2023.

He is now on a blazing trail under new cornerman Ben Davison, and the days of despair when losing twice to Oleksandr Usyk have been firmly put in the past.

Fans have now began placing Joshua back into a clash with British rival Tyson Fury, with some even going as far as suggesting he is now the ‘best heavyweight in the world’.

But Hatton, who returns in a huge central area title clash on March 23 against Jimmy Joe Flint, believes AJ must be given the edge on current form.

“He did what he was meant to do to Ngannou,” Hatton told talkSPORT.com.

“I think physically AJ never lost anything, it has always been a bit of a mental issue where he has been gun-shy and struggled to let his hands go.

“I got quite excited watching it [KO of Ngannou], he is fighting with a lot of confidence and he seems to have got over that mental block. I think this move to Ben Davison has been great for him.

“I have always said if he gets his head right he would be back, and he seems to have done that. Going off current form, you have to say that AJ beats Fury.

“But we need to see Fury fight Usyk before we get too giddy, because Fury could look a million dollars.

“Based on their last fights, you have to say AJ is back and he looked a lot better than Fury did in his last fight.”

H.E. Turki Alalshikh (chairman of Saudi’s General Entertainment Authority – GEA) confirmed that he intends to make Joshua the main challenger to the undisputed crown.

However, the 35-year-old may choose to fight for the IBF title against Filip Hrgovic, if the Ukrainian vacates the belt should he face Fury in a rematch of their undisputed clash.

UPDATE ;Tyson Fury is finished, according to former world champ who saw Anthony Joshua fight

Although the former two-time champion’s trainer Davison admitted he would relish the chance of helping him get revenge against Usyk if a trilogy was available.

Tony Bellew believes Anthony Joshua would knock out Tyson Fury if the two British heavyweights finally agreed to fight each other.

Joshua dispatched Francis Ngannou inside two rounds in Saudi Arabia earlier this month, and has now had three of his last five fights in the Middle Eastern country.

Fury also fought in Saudi Arabia last time out, beating Ngannou on points in October, and is set to return there in May for his undisputed heavyweight clash with Oleksandr Usyk.

A win for Fury could set up a fight against Joshua, a mouthwatering prospect for British boxing.

And Bellew believes Joshua’s recent performances would make him the clear favourite against Fury, who only beat Ngannou on points in the MMA star’s boxing debut.

‘I believe he faces the winner of Tyson Fury v Oleksandr Usyk and if that is Fury who comes out as the winner and the undisputed champion, then Anthony Joshua knocks him out,’ Bellew told Spinbet.

🚨 Tony Bellew makes bold Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk pick

‘I just think he will let his hands go and stop Fury. His power is ridiculous and he has once again proven how destructive he can be, it is scary.’

Joshua demolished Ngannou in Saudi Arabia two weeks ago, just four months after the former UFC heavyweight champion knocked down Fury and pushed him all the way before losing a razor-thin points decision.

But the 34-year-old delivered a dominant performance as he knocked down the MMA star twice and then finished him with a devastating right hand that left the Cameroonian-born star requiring medical attention.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn suggested earlier this week that his client and Fury could sign a two-fight deal to finally face each other, with one of the bouts potentially taking place at Wembley Stadium.

Joshua has now won his last four bouts since losing his rematch to Usyk by split decision two years ago, an emphatic return to form that has impressed Bellew.

‘You have to say well done to AJ because he is the one going out there and knocking these guys out,’ the former WBC cruiserweight champion said.

‘The job he did with Otto Wallin was absolutely clinical, it was a brilliant performance from start to finish.

‘The finish was ridiculous and then we cross over to the Francis Ngannou fight and everyone thinks he’s going to be in a world of trouble. I pretty much said it would be over within six rounds but what I did also say was that if it went past six rounds.’

Hearn feels Joshua has put himself back at the top of the heavyweight division, and admits even he was shocked by how easy the Brit made it look against Ngannou.

‘So, what this guy has done to come back to the position he’s in is unbelievable. Like a broken man after the second Usyk fight, searching for answers, searching for form. He has worked so hard to find it.’

Bellew echoed Hearn’s stance, suggesting Joshua is mentally much stronger than he was even when he won his two world titles.

‘Anthony Joshua is in a place now where the mental fragility that he’s had placed on his name has now gone,’ he said.

Eddie Hearn has hit back at Francis Ngannou following his claim.

Ngannou suffered a brutal second-round defeat to Joshua in their Saudi Arabia showdown earlier this month.

Joshua floored Ngannou twice before landing a devastating blow to secure a big win.

After the fight, the former UFC heavyweight champion made a revelation as he explained the reason behind his crushing defeat.

Hearn, who promotes Joshua, has hit back at Ngannou’s statement as he left a comment on Pro Boxing Fans’ post on Instagram.

UPDATE ;Francis Ngannou predicts who would win between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua  after losing to both British heavyweights in the last six months

It’s his second defeat in a row in the world of boxing following his controversial loss against WBC title holder Tyson Fury last year.

Tyson Fury has been punched by both Francis Ngannou and Deontay Wilder, and he knows who hits harder.

Tyson Fury has made one of the biggest comebacks we have ever seen in the boxing world since his return to the ring back in 2017. The Gypsy King reigns as the WBC heavyweight champion, a title he beat Deontay Wilder for in 2020. Since his championship victory, the 35-year-old has fended off multiple challengers, including a Wilder rematch, Dillian Whyte, and Derek Chisora.

Fury’s last fight, however, was against a rather surprising opponent, former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, who was taking part in his professional debut in the sport. Many would even tell you that the champion was lucky to come away with the win after being knocked down in round three, but according to the judges, he did get the job done, winning in the end via split decision.

Tyson Fury says he wants Francis Ngannou to 'knock Deontay Wilder spark out' because he's a 'piece of s***' | talkSPORT

After clashes with two powerhouses of combat sport, Fury has now answered the question many would want to know the answer to. Who hits harder between Ngannou and Wilder? Speaking to The Stomping Ground, the Brit had no doubts whatsoever about who was the harder puncher.

Ngannou’s Step Into the Boxing World

The former UFC heavyweight champion chose to swap the Octagon for the ring last year after a contractual dispute with the UFC and Dana White. Since then, it’s safe to assume that he will be feeling rather disappointed that he’s lost both of his fights inside the ropes of a boxing ring. The Cameroonian’s debut on the boxing scene caused controversy as he lost to The Gypsy King via split decision, despite knocking Fury down during their bout in the third round. That meeting between the two heavyweights was not a title fight, but that would not have impacted Ngannou’s desire to win, and he was unlucky not to have his hand raised at the end.

The 37-year-old then met Fury’s British rival Anthony Joshua in the ring in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia earlier this month, and suffered a knockout defeat in just the second round. Ngannou has bemoaned that defeat, claiming he was “tricked” and did not feel right in the dressing room moments before his entrance. He has also, however, admitted that he doesn’t remember much of the fight, claiming to only recall AJ’s very first punch.

Deontay Wilder’s Reign

Wilder held the WBC heavyweight championship for two years before his loss to Fury in 2017. The American defended his title multiple times during that two-year reign, seeing off challenges from names like Luis Ortiz, Dominic Breazeale, and Eric Molina.

Since his second defeat at the hands of Fury, Wilder has stepped into the ring on two more occasions, recording one defeat and one victory. After a knockout victory over Robert Helenius in Brooklyn, Wilder met Joseph Parker in Saudi Arabia, losing via split decision. That defeat was his first that did not come at the hands of The Gypsy King.

UPDATE ;Gervonta Davis destroyed punch machine challenge and beat scores set by Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder

The American has recorded 43 wins from 47 fights, 42 of those by knockout, losing three times, and drawing once, which also came in a clash with Fury. Those 42 knockouts show testament to Fury’s comments on just how hard the American can hit.
