Former UFC fighter Clay Collard is eyeing a return to the boxing ring with one goal in mind: to take down Jake Paul and reclaim MMA’s honor. Despite currently focusing on his PFL career, the 31-year-old Collard remains keenly interested in a potential matchup against Paul.

With 18 professional boxing bouts under his belt, including facing Olympic silver medallist Bektemir MelikuzievCollard‘s boxing experience sets him apart from the aging MMA stars that Paul has been squaring off against.

Collard‘s journey into boxing began as a means to improve his striking skills for MMA, but it quickly became a source of income after his UFC stint ended in 2015. Since then, he’s taken on multiple short-notice fights to make ends meet, showcasing his resilience and determination in the ring. In a recent interview with the talkSPORT MMA YouTube channel, Collard left no room for ambiguity.

“The only guy I want to box is Jake Paul,” he said.

“I just want to do it for all those MMA fighters that he has beat up.

“I have played the game of boxing a little bit unlike most of these guys so I think he would definitely have his hands full against me. But he’s doing crazy s*** now. I want to kick you’re a**.”

Mike Tyson to face Jake Paul in boxing match this summer

Paul‘s professional boxing career has seen him face several MMA stars, including Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley (twice), Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz. However, his next challenge is of a different magnitude as he gears up to take on boxing legend Mike Tyson on July 20 in Arlington, Texas.
