MIKE DROP ‘Stop spreading fake news’ – Jake Paul’s business partner shuts down wild rumours of rules for Mike Tyson fight

JAKE PAUL’S business partner has shut down wild rumours surrounding the rules for his fight with Mike Tyson.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul and heavyweight icon Tyson are to collide in a controversial clash on July 20 in Texas.

But there is yet to be any confirmation on the rules or whether it will be a professionally sanctioned bout or an exhibition.

There were baseless claims on social media that the fight would be contested in 16oz gloves opposed to 10oz, the rounds would be over two minutes instead of three and no judges would score the bout.

The rumours were completely made up and Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, set the record straight.

Bidarian said: “Breaking news, there is no news. Stop spreading fake news. There’s no truth to all this stuff around Jake Paul and Mike Tyson.

“Here’s what is true, one; Mike Tyson is in unbelievable shape and training like he hasn’t in many, many years and is looking scary for Jake Paul.

“Two, there are no tickets for sale. If you bought tickets those are tickets that don’t exist.

“Three, over 85,000 people have signed up to get access to tickets when they go on sale. This is going to be a historic event.”

Paul is 9-1 as a boxer who suffered his only defeat to Tyson’s brother Tommy in February 2023, but has won three since.

Meanwhile, Tyson retired in 2005 but did return in 2020 for an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr, which ended in an eight-round draw.

That bout was not officially sanctioned and was competed 12oz gloves, over two minute rounds without headguards on.

Bidarian had also previously spoken out to confirm headgear would NOT be worn by either Paul or Tyson after responding to yet more rumours.
