Biles is set to headline the 2024 Gold Over America Tour, which will feature several of the biggest names in gymnastics in what the tour’s website describes as “a pop concert-style spectacle showcasing athletic brilliance, championship journeys and of course, the Gold Squad dancers.” The tour will make 30 stops throughout the United States following the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, including one at Toyota Center that is scheduled for Oct. 19.
In addition to Biles, the Gold Over America Tour will feature other elite gymnasts such as Fred Richard, Shilese Jones and Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos. The tour previously came to Houston in 2021, when Biles was joined by Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, Grace McCallum, MyKayla Skinner and others.
Biles, who grew up in Spring, is the most decorated gymnast of all-time with 37 combined world championship and Olympic medals. This includes 27 total gold medals—23 world championships, and four from the Olympics. Biles has previously expressed her desire to compete at the 2024 Summer Games.
Outside of her athletic accomplishments, Biles has maintained a fairly prominent presence in the Houston area throughout her career. She’s been frequently spotted at local professional sporting events since her rise to fame during the previous decade, with her husband, Jonathan Owens, playing playing defensive back for the Houston Texans from 2019-2022 .
